CSN RN Fall 2014

Published

Hello All! So the time has come for a new thread for all of us applying for fall 2014. Anyone applying in March?

I attended the limited entry workshop and they talked a lot about transfer credit. It has to be posted by the application date and it has to be transfer correctly... Meaning they have different code they post by your grade and they only accept one of those code. I think if you have something else than a T by your grade its not good. Anyway, if you had your application reviewed by them and they missed something, that is very disappointing to say the least. I hope it all workout in the end for you guys. Good luck...

CSN makes the process too complicated!!! I applied at NSC and the process over there is a breeze compare... They also accepted my transfer credits fast and without a fight. CSN still refuses to accept my math 180 class... They seem pretty bad at paperwork....

I have come to realize that CSN makes the process of everything too complicated. It's not the material that's difficult with their program, it's the convoluted and backwards way that CSN insists on doing everything. I'm extremely frustrated with them right now so I feel your pain!

Yes, they do make it difficult. All they should have to do is look at your portal. I know when I go into theadvisement counselor she looks up my NSHE, pulls up all my classes and grades (even transferred credits) and calculates them right there. It's not rocket science.

I also have have been going to CSN for about 3 years. So my credits were transferred a long time ago. And all have a "t" next to the transferred grade for the class.

I'm really interested in what they're going to say when I go in Monday.

I understand it's a process but they don't realize that after we hand in that application we are leaving the fate of our education in their hands. If they miscalculated or overlooked something they are playing with our lives, our hard work and our money.

I agree. All this transferring stuff is to complicated. It's black and white either you have the points or not! Please let me know what answer they give you and I'll do the same...

Thanks for the info! I just signed up for the class. I would have not known about this class without this thread!

So, I went to speak with the limited entry office and the reason I was denied was because I took my TEAS 84 days past my last test date not 90 days. So because I was just under the 3 month mark they denied me. And the point cut off was 30!

When she told me that all I said was "wow". I couldn't believe that they denied me with 37 points all because of a 6 day difference. I took it 10/26 and retook it 1/18.

She he said I could try and appeal it with the nursing director but stated she is a stickler for all "directions" being followed and hasn't seen her approve anyone even if it's 89 days. It has to be over 90 days since the last time you tested.

What do you guys think? Should I just retake the TEAS and reapply or try to contest it?

You can try to fight it but I honestly don't think it will do much. They are quite strict with the rules for both the application and the actual program. It's tough to fight anything that's a printed rule.

The point cut off was 30? So anyone applying with under 30 didn't get in?

I feel that way too. I plan to retake it in July. And then reapply in Sept. Just a very disappointing set back. And I hate that TEAS test. But I did it once. I can do it again.

Thanks for for all the support guys. We all need it in this stressful and competitive program. I wish the administration was a little more empathetic to the students at CSN.

The point cut off for accepted students was 30. The point cut off for alternates was 26. And from what she told me about 20 students aren't taking their seats.

20 of the people accepted aren't ??
