CSN RN Fall 2014

Published

Hello All! So the time has come for a new thread for all of us applying for fall 2014. Anyone applying in March?

Christina, do we need the online stuff from evolve and Pearson neighborhood? I bought a couple of secondhand books and I was wondering if we need the access codes

Evolve, no. That website has the ebooks (which I do find useful but definitely not required) and student resources (never used).

Pearson neighborhood, definitely required but also shareable with another student/s. You will need it for several assignments in 101 lab and lecture and from what I understand for future classes (my class only needed it for 1st semester though). Unfortunately you can't get by without it. This is a separate item that is not part of any of the books so you're not missing out by purchasing used books.

ElTigreChino,

you can buy the neighborhood on amazon for $40 instead on through the bookstore. It's a $10 save.

Has anyone uploaded their forms to the certified profile thing? All the signed acknowledgment forms do we bring them in person on the 21st? That's a lot of forms to upload. It only asks for 1 form through the cp program.

Thanks Christina and normitac86! I try to be as frugal as possible lol. Yes, we do need to bring and upload all the acknowledgement forms. I uploaded mine yesterday and it takes awhile!

ElTigreChino,

but on the program it only asks for the 1 acknowledgement form. I'm assuming we bring all the rest from the packet. I tried calling the office but they are on vacay and I emailed 1 of our professors and no reply. :/ quite frustrating. All my other stuff is uploaded. It takes a while for it to be approved also.

I'll just bring all the forms just incase.

Hello. I am a Fall2015 hopeful, currently working on my last few prerequisites. I have a question for those who were accepted into Fall2014 ADN program at CSN. Here it is....did anyone get accepted with anything less than an 'A' in BIOL251? I got an 'A' in 189 & 223, and feel that an 'A' in 224 is doable, but I'm not sure about 251. It's kinda kickin my booty right now. I just need some reassurance that if I pull out a 'B' in 251...it won't be the one thing that keeps me out of the program. Please, please, please tell me that someone got in with less than an 'A' in 251! Thank you kindly for any responses.

189 and 223 are the only classes that matter for GPA. 224 and 251 matter for points and I have seen students that have been accepted without. My advice is to apply once you have all of the requirements in place whether your gen ed credits (224,251,com, hist) are done or not. BTW, I started the program in spring 13. I was accepted on my first application and I'm no genius. I'm just an average Joe kind of a student.

Thank you, Christina! I appreciate your response. I have all my pre-reqs. I believe 224 & 251 are my last two gen eds. I am taking them both this semester. Some of my pre-reqs & gen eds are transfers from other schools. (TCE was completed by Registrar over a year ago, so at least that is out of the way.) 1st attempt at TEAS is scheduled for Oct 4th. I am meeting with Health Programs Advisor next week, and planning to attend LE App Workshop Oct 23rd. Just getting my "ducks" in a row. Hope you are enjoying the program! Thanks again! :)
