CPNE Workshop in Atlanta

Published

Has anybody actually taken this workshop and then taken the CPNE? I am going to take the CPNE in Atlanta and this workshop is also in Atlanta. Their website is: http://www.cpneworkshop.com

Before I pony up my hard earned LPN money on their workshop I would appreciate any actual experiences with it and how it prepared you for the CPNE (good or bad). Please PM me if you do not want to post your experiences here. Thanks!

I would think twice about going. Seen the above thread when it was posted a month ago and knew it would not be the one for me. Could the poster exaggerated abit, maybe but I'm not taking any chances with my money. Also I went to that web site a while back and they send me emails all the time. Just got one today stating that they have created the most comprehensive study guide to pass the CPNE. Okay? I'll pass on that because EC study guide is the most comprehensive in my opinion. I have heard good things about Lynn's and both Tina's workshops. The chancellors workshop have alot of great reviews and EC workshop is a toss up. Some like it, some don't. I will be attending Lynn's workshop in August and maybe EC workshop in October because they are coming to my state.

FWIW, I have heard nothing good from cpneworkshop. I would listen to Lunah & NCGirl regarding the reputable prep sites they mentioned. They know what they're talking about.

I looked over the website a bit more yesterday ... nowhere does it say that the instructor ever attended EC, so I don't think she has. I wouldn't want someone who hasn't been there to teach my workshop -- I'm sorry, but unless you've done the CPNE, you really don't know. Lynn and both of the Tinas are EC graduates.

Ha! You're awesome. :) I'm sure the answer will be "No, but ..." :D

According to the workshop site, she teaches at a place called Kaylim Career Institute, which is like an in-person College Network, similar to that "Distance Learning Systems" outfit that charges to teach students to pass EC exams. The site is www.kaylimcareerinstitute.com.

Her bio is at the website.

She graduated from a traditional school. She sounds well educated and I'm sure she's a nice person, but I'd rather learn about the CPNE from someone who has been there. How do they even have access to the study guides, anyway?

Just to let you know, I go to Kaylim and they do not "teach you how to pass an EC exam." Lunah is incorrect. My microbiology teacher is a research micro-biologist form the CDC. They actually teach you entire college courses in a condensed version. There has never been a class that I have taken there that has had ANY EC test material. And as far as her experience as a nurse and in instructor goes, she is great. I have taken 3 of her nursing courses and she is very intelligent. She also sat on NCLEX board and has been a test site trainer for years. The workshop is excellent and she has a lot of people coming to them. So far she has a 99% pass rate with her students. I would recommend her anytime!!!!!! If you have any question, E-mail me.

Again, while I too am sure that She is probably great, there is something about actually being there studying and taking the CPNE that is truly unique to the whole realm of nursing that likely cannot be completely captured unless she was a former student or CE/CA.

About teaching to pass EC exams--you know what Lunah is saying. You have to understand the material to pass the EC exams. I assume Kaylim is teaching so you understand the material (I hope!), In turn you learn material to pass the EC exams, which is the ultimate goal, right? If you had a class that actually had EC test material in its dirty little hands, that institute would be in some trouble.

With the great unknown aspect of the CPNE for us who have not experienced it, reassurance from the instructor from their personal experience would go a long way in helping the student be assured that he or she indeed can pass the beast. At least that is how I would feel.

I am not going to get into any arguements on a computer. I respect everyone's opinion. I just know that I am not being taught to pass an exam. There is soooo much more that I have been taught that has not been on any EC exam. I will take the CPNE workshop in Atlanta. I do know that they have a 100% money back guarentee if you are not satisfied. Good luck to everyone.
