Cpne In Amarillo In December-anyone Been There?

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

well think about this the mpac is the slowest of the slow ...the npac is moving right along and i am not sure about the spac. is it because there may be more people applying to the mpac than the others...otherwise it seems to reason the others (npac, spac) would be backed up as well from re-testers. i dont know ...i am comfortable with testing next year but i have plans for the rn degree and they need to start during the summer...

question lunah???? i am not on the cancellation list. if i get back on it ( i took myself off) and they offer me a spot and i decline is it a one time deal or do i have the opportunities later for another spot...

before all of you say...geeezzz spoiled brat i am taking 15 hours criminal law right now will graduate decemeber 13 this year and just cannot fit more studying into my semester.

I believe you can reject the date they give you without penalty if it's within the prescribed time frame, regardless if it is a cancellation date or not.

I'm not sure, D. I was never on the cancellation list, but I'm pretty sure if you decline a spot, it doesn't put you back at the bottom of the pile.

NPAC has more test sites, if I'm not mistaken. SPAC is super-slow ... fewer sites, and some (like Savannah) only have the CPNE once a month, not every weekend like most NPAC and MPAC sites. I believe in the NPAC, the only site with once-monthly CPNEs is Chambersburg, PA, and probably because it's a new-ish site. I believe MPAC is opening two more sites soon, IIRC.

You are NOT a spoiled brat! Quite the contrary, overachieving-mom-of-six! :D

I think the new ones are in Wisconsin ... can't remember where. One of them is something like ... Janesville? Not sure.

IIRC = "if I recall correctly." :)

I applied at the end of April for MPAC. Got my date 4 months after --for Mansfield. I live in MN, so I would have preferred WI but I didn't want to wait forevah so I just let them roll me where they had openings. So all in all, from appl., to actual test date for me is 7 months which I didn't think was too shabby. Right in EC's parameters. I didn't request a specific site and I did request cancellation with 3 weeks min. notice-- I'm glad that I had more than "3 weeks" though!!!

Good luck in Amarillo, guys! My CPNE was back in late '05 at NWTHS. I hope that the CA and CE's are still as pleasant as they were to me.
