Not me, but when did you apply and when did you get your date? I think the MPAC just started scheduling the May application people, for crying in the corn.

Good luck to you!

Applied the end of April

oh, but the voice message says they are scheduling students whose applications were complete the first week of may. i think it takes a hair longer if you apply for specific sites rather than the whole shebang. this is progress, i tell you!

i got my junk in on may 19th, so i'm supposing i will have a date sometime in the next decade or so. they are freaking slow.

ok so may... well this is progress then. i called them a month a ago to do some changing to my app and they were on the last week in april. i just applied to the plano site. i would be satisfied if i had a date even if it was christmas 2025...just something. i want to test between feb and march if they don't have me a date by then i'm going to change over to the npac or something....

For how much freaking money it costs us, it would be nice to at least have a date in hand well before our actual CPNE date--like within a month or two of applying--so that not only do we know our $1800 is at work but also so we can really properly rearrange our work lives for the week for this bugger.

I'm afraid my May 19th app date is going to place me in about February, but we'll see. I know the NPAC will get you a much quicker date, but then you'd have to fly. For me, flying is not my friend.

oh my goodness:omy:....if you expect to go in feb and you applied in may then i am looking at next summer for sure. we are talking longer than the 7-9 month wait here...:scrm:uuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggggg

i applied july 9th and now i am nauseated ........:barf01:

i didn't mean to hijack this thread with my cpne issues...

I have no basis for thinking that it will be February, but if it's sooner, I will be pleasantly surprised--as pleasant as it will be to drive from Iowa to Wisconsin in February, anyway.

Okay, back to the OP! Surely someone here has been CPNEing in Amarillo!

I totally understand your frustrations ... I applied for the CPNE on November 6, 2007, received my date on April 4, 2008, and went to Mansfield the weekend of June 13-15, 2008. I applied to only one location because it was within driving distance for me (I love a good road trip anyway!), so that probably lengthened my wait.

But to this day, I do NOT understand why scheduling takes so long! Yes, I understand why it takes a while between application and testing -- you can only pour so much through the narrow neck of a funnel -- but they should be able to plug in your info and bada-bing, have your date. C'mon, this is the computer age! I don't get it. And they couldn't explain it to me, either. They said something about a computer system and it being slow. Yeah, no kidding.

Hang in there, peeps. It'll be here before you know it. I was like, "Where's my date, this is taking forever, arrghh" and once I got my date, I thought, "Too soon! Too soon! YIKES!!!" :D

I think one of the problems with scheduling Is the re-scheduling of the 30-40% that repeat the CPNE

That is an excellent point; I had never considered that. Do you think that's why they delay the scheduling? So they can slide repeat testers in a little sooner? Most people I know who have done it twice do seem to get repeat dates fairly quickly.
