Anybody know how long the wait is for the CPNE in NY state?

lol...yeah and one more thing i will be a rn before i die....darn it......i am kinda scared to go to new york that is a big city for this country girl... my husband told me they would make fun of my accent and just me in general cause i'm so country...lol....ive only flown once and swore the next time id be wearin me a pamper...lol

honey, nyc has all of the population and none of the land!

the test cities are nowhere like nyc. albany is hundreds of miles away from nyc, as is syracuse. and syracuse has the state fair grounds.

know what ny's biggest industry is? agriculture. dairy and apples.

see what i know... this makes me feel better... i just was visioning myself lost in a place like downtown nyc.....yikes....where is the nearest airport to utica and if it is albany how long does it take to drive there....

Utica has an airport.

It can't be too far. Albant is two hours from me, Utica three.

I tested in Utica and it's a small quiet town about an hours drive from Syracuse. The airport in Syracuse is small with only one terminal I believe and no long lines waiting to go thru security. It's nice and country like in central New York-I drove to Niagra Falls and didn't run into any 'big' cities along the way. I wish I would have known there was test sites in Syracuse though, I could have saved a few $ by not having to rent a car. I'm from the west coast and was clueless about sites when I scheduled mine. The CA and CE's were great in Utica and I have no regrets about it-I passed and that's all that matters:bow:

i am so glad that you said this. i, too, live in texas, and i have been con-templating on which site to go to. i have been trying to find out which hospital associated with the cpne is the smallest. at least you are almost there. i am only beginning. taking first test on 8/30. good luck to you! you are another one of my inspirations. traci:d

Oh, another bit of news about upstate New York - we call everything north of Albany "The North Country." It is very rural, with the same area code all the way to Canada - way different than when I lived in NYC, when the city alone had 4.

The guys at work were telling me today how to prepare porcupine for frying.

You ain't gonna be in no big city. 'ceptin' Albany, but that, to me, is a huge suburb. Although now, I get irritated at how urban it is.

I done been assimilated. We went to the Essex County fair on Saturday and actually watched the tractor pull.

People here "stay to home" and "fix to" do things. Not like in the south, but don't be ascared of the NY test sites. Really.

As a New York City person I thought the rest of the state didn't really exist. They're two different countries.
