Multiple vaccine incentives are now being offered to those getting vaccinated this month to meet the CDC/President Biden's goal of 70% adult vaccination by July 4th, 2021.

Those vaccinated at CVS pharmacy or by CVS pharmacist @ covid clinic/ SNF,  can enter to win numerous prizes -- including Feb. 2022 Super Bowl Trip!   Of course, they weren't  permitted to give vaccine yet to general public when I or sons  vaccinated in PA --so I'll try their mail-in address per website.  Will need to find a Krispy Creame for my free doughnut (damm the diet)!

U.S. Gov. list:  COVID-19 Vaccine Incentives

COVID-19 Vaccine Lottery: How to Enter to Win Up to $5 Million and Get Other Freebies

  • Ohio: $1 Million and Full-Ride College Scholarship

  • New York: $20 to $5 Million, Free Park Pass
  • New York: $20 to $5 Million, Free Park Pass

Following Ohio’s lead, states add lottery prize as vaccine incentive

  • California: $1.5 million each for 10 Californians; $50 gift cards either for general use or for specific grocery stores to the next 2 million people who get shots started May 27th, 21

What do nurses think of these incentives???

No. Incentives further prove how unnecessary this really is. The public is waking up to the lies and propaganda. No other vaccine has ever been pushed like this. Five years from now it will be, “have you or a loved one taken the fauxvid vaccine? You may be entitled to compensation...”

LOL. Someone needs the TDS vaccine. ??

All the evidence in the world can’t sway the delusions of a lib. ???

But you don't have any evidence to try to sway a lib and libs aren't swayed by lies like you (apparently).

Hey...since you are a highly educated nursing professional did you know that no other vaccine was pushed like these vaccines because there hadn't been a significant pandemic in 100 years? It seems like someone so highly educated would be able to figure that out but maybe you went to the same school that the other antivaxxer attended. I do have to wonder since you also seem to believe that there is actually a medical condition called TDS.

As an anesthetist, you are getting on my nerves. It’s embarrassing to read your posts. I’ve mentioned this in another thread. On my unit, staffed only by anestesiologists and nurse anesthetists, the vaccine coverage is over 98% among staff.

The number of Covid-19 ravaged lungs I’ve seen this past year and a half on chest films and CT scans, is larger than I can easily estimate as I write this post.

I genuinely hope that the moderators remove your posts as they are not just filled with disinformation. They are not even anchored in reality. And it is extremely disrespectful to the millions of human beings who have lost their lives, or lost loved ones to call it a ”scamdemic”.

I don’t know if you’re trolling or if you genuinely believe what you write. It doesn’t really matter either way. In my opinion your posts in this thread are pollution and add nothing of value.

My body, my choice.

That's the new thing right. It's nobodies business if get the vaccine or not. I don't go around with my childhood immunization/flu vaccination record expecting to get put into a lottery.

If a "normal" version of the vaccine is created, I'd have no problem getting it. I've basically already had the vaccine, but due to hysteria and vaccine propaganda it's no longer good enough to "get the chickenpox".

Thank you to all those that have chosen to sign up for this massive test and get the vaccine. If in the future it works out that these new vaccines work well, then great, maybe we can figure out how to use it for other things. I hope that it works out and everything goes fine. Many people don't realize that if this goes tits up in the future, that there's nothing they can really do about it and the drug companies will be laughing while Scrooge McDucking it in their pool. I'm not willing to be part of the experiment just because people think natural innoculation isn't good enough.

Good luck to all those that are getting into the lotteries, you're welcome.

Maybe they are trolling. Maybe not. If another point of view adds nothing of value to the conversation, then you are a part of the larger problem this country is having. For some reason we've lost the ability to fathom that others can have a different point of view, and they have that right.

Giving you the opportunity to see how and why people think/see/do what they do is value. Apparently you're too arrogant to realize that you can use that information to better make arguments, conversations, or explain things to those people.

From Merriam Webster:  Public Health    and  Pandemic:

Quote

Public Health

the art and science dealing with the protection and improvement of community health by organized community effort and including preventive medicine and sanitary and social science

Quote

Definition of pandemic

occurring over a wide geographic area (such as multiple countries or continents) and typically affecting a significant proportion of the population.    The 1918 flu was pandemic and claimed millions of lives

Vaccine:

Quote

a preparation that is administered (as by injection) to stimulate the body's immune response against a specific infectious agent or disease:

U.S. Covid vaccine's have a 70-95% effective rate in preventing serious COVID infection, part of  preventive medicine strategy.

Covid-19 statistics  6/11/21  @ 1045 AM:

John Hopkins Univ. Covid-19 dashboard

Worldwide

  • Cases: 174,940,496
  • Deaths: 3,775,180

U.S. stats corrected

  • Cases:  33,427,925
  • Deaths:  598,797

Current World Population counter:  7,871,938,450

CDC: US COVID-19  7-Day Case Rate per 100,000, by State/Territory for the past week.

Darker the blue map color, higher COVID infection rate. Navy color = 55-108 cases per 100,000.

Pandemics cross all continents irregardless of political views of a country. US is donating 500 million Pfizer vaccine doses  worldwide as a PUBLIC HEALTH measure to decrease worldwide transmission.

How have nurses forgotten basic Public Health tenets developed since 1918?    Masks, handwashing, social distancing, vaccine administration = the Principles of Disease Elimination and Eradication

Prior government administration made everything about red and blue states.   To gain control of this pandemic, need to change thinking to RED, WHITE and BLUE --together we can stop needless pandemic deaths.

Majority of adults over age 65, have received at least one Covid vaccine dose, so focus is on the age groups driving new coronavirus infections

Quote

Young and middle-aged adults are driving the spread of the novel coronavirus across the United States, accounting for about 75% of new infections both before and after many students returned to in-person classes last October, according to a new study published in Science. ...

My 30+ yo  keep telling me Social Media and You tube is what millennials pay attention to, so if a lottery, fishing license, beer increases vaccination rates so US can acheive herd immunity, I'm all for it as I''d like to extend my lifetime by 20-30 years --especially without Covid Long Haul illness.

What do you propose I explain to a person who calls Covid Fauxvid and who refers to a pandemic that has killed millions, a scamdemic? How do your rate my chance of successfully getting through to him? I’m confident it’s zero.

He is not adding another ”point of view”. He’s in the business of denying reality. I don’t feel a desire to indulge that.

I wouldn’t care if a poster came on here and swore up and and down that the natural color of grass is pink or that dogs are really good at paddling canoes.  I’d think him a bit strange, but those lies or misconceptions aren’t likely to harm anyone. Spreading lies about an infectious disease on the other hand, has that potential. In my opinion, it has no place on a nursing forum.

Maybe you can ask John Hopkins how this works?
How does the US have more deaths than the total world population?

How do we have more deaths than total cases?

This looks like an error, possibly, misinformation.

So are you a health professional who doesn't believe that this was a pandemic or a troll pretending to be a health professional? I'm going to go with the troll option. The evidence seems pretty obvious.

How many people do you think live in the U.S.? And in the world?

Certainly more than three million sevenhundred and seventyfive thousand and change. But there seems to be something wrong with the U.S. numbers as the case number and deaths are almost identical. I think you’ve had about 600,000 deaths attributed to Covid. The 3 million plus number are global deaths I believe.

Ah. Good to know you’re a sheep amongst sheep. As an anesthetist, I view your eagerness to embrace the scam as sickening. I love how you want any dissent silenced. That has been the goal of the left throughout this scam. Now that more of the truth is coming out, maybe more people will wake up. Your posts are no more than cliche talking points the like of which the state-run media bombards us with.

LOL. The fact you believe it has “killed millions” is laughable and telling. Simply admit you are unable to think for yourself and have swallowed the party line on this. Today’s “misinformation” is tomorrow’s fact, as we are beginning to see. I’m sure you can read fauci’s emails? I’m sure you can read the studies on the meds they swore didn’t work? How about the origins of the virus? All “misinformation,” right? What an absolute joke. Baaaaaaa!

Then, maybe don't indulge them? I've seen many posts on here I'd consider downright stupid from people that claim to be nurses. I don't engage them because I know from experience, which you apparently haven't gained from this or any other interaction, that they'll continue to drivel that stupidity as long as someone will listen.

My opinion is that as a nurse you should know and respect other people's points of view, no matter how stupid they are. It tells us what they know, their intelligence level, their background, the ability of their information to be trusted. It tells us many thing. Apparently as an anesthetist you forget the nuance of nursing care and how to use information. It's OK though, you go all that extra schooling to make sure you don't have to listen to patients.

In short, it's my opinion that it all has a place here. Besides, there's not really that many people posting on here anymore, especially not enough to keep it interesting.
