Counting down

Can I just say I can't wait for fall to get here! :yeah: I bought my scrubs today and as I cross more things off my to-do list I get more and more excited. I had to come share because I know y'all would appreciate it - the rest of my family is probably tired of hearing it! haha

good luck you all you guys!!! if you need help you know where to come!

thank you! i :heartbeat allnurses!

yeah it was super awesome-first week of clinicals had an old male pt reach up and rip open my top... all the snaps popped open, ever since i wear tank tops underneath my top, even with regular scrub tops!! 15 years later i still remember him!

ours zip up the front which i thought was strange - better than buttons though!

that's great! i am counting down, too! i've worked hard to get accepted into the program and now that i have, i have mixed emotions. anxious and excited! i've gotten my titers and tb skin tests done, i'll be doing the background check and drug screening on the date the school has specified. i'll probably get my scrubs pretty soon. they're not ideal, but not a terrible color either. congratulations on being accepted! i'm happy i've found someplace that others know what i'm talking about. my family and friends just nod politely, but have no clue. haha.

is is august yet?

congratulations to you too! everyone was really excited when i first got in but now they don't seem as excited as i am. haha

i just finished my first year of my adn program, and i remember when i first got my letter in for the fall '11. it was the summer time and i saw the letter was from my school. every inch of my being said this was the letter i had been waiting years for; as i sat down to open the letter, my breaths got shorter and my rate got higher. it was like i was punched by an invisible friend. i called my mom who was in the philippines at the time to tell her the news, and i couldnt stop crying. i have never felt that way before, crying without feeling pain. it was amazing.

now that i'm reading these acceptance posts from the incoming class, i cant help but relive my special day. i know you guys are all super excited, and i wish you all the best! nursing school is unlike anything else, in my case, there is no such thing as being ready for whats to come. you study hard, you manage your time, you cope, and you deal with whatever gets thrown your way the best you can. use critical thinking over memorizing.

thank you! congrats on making it through your first year!

i have about 18 sticky notes on my pc wallpaper of things i need to do and things to check off. i get excited everytime i complete something, and delete it. :yeah: i feel like its bringing me closer and closer to school. so, i know exactly how you feel. :lol2: i ordered and tried on my uniforms at my last school meeting. i still need to get nursing shoes, my nurse kit, books, a watch, bag/backpack (maybe a roller), school supplies, and deal with some more financial aid stuff. i have dates and times of things to do and places to go, too. i am so excited. :)

good luck everyone.

i already have everything in my calendar but last night i made another to-do list just so i could cross things off! haha

i got mine a few days ago!! they're all white and do not look all that bad. i actually like them! im checking off the items on my to-do list as i do em and it seems like its coming but not fast enough! lol

i don't think it is coming fast enough!

i'm ordering mine this week! they're green, so not bad :) i keep telling everyone that will listen to me that i can't wait for september!

i'm not gonna lie - i'm pretty jealous of all of y'all with the colored scrubs! :lol2:

undoubtedly, this brings fond memories of the days that i purchase my first set of (cmmm cleaning my throat) white nursing uniform, i still recall the night before i spread my entire outfit out on my bed and check to see if the shoes were polished enough, the belt fit correctly, my id badge was visible plus my "ben casey" top was ironed to perfection with enough starch. in addition, i checked that all of my accoutrements that were necessary to use for any particular procedure like my stethoscope, my caliper, my watch with a 2nd. hand, my trauma scissors, and my two pens one red & one black along with my shiny silver rn caduceus were all where in order. needless to say, i passed inspection by my instructor known as no nonsense drill sarge nurse. wishing all of you the best in all of your future endeavors...aloha~

i have a feeling the night before my first day will be similar! i do that now just to go to my regular classes. haha

Best of luck to everyone! Nursing school is unlike any other academic experience. :)

Ugh, our orientation isn't until August. Enjoy tomorrow!

Congratulations!!! You worked so hard to get accepted and deserve it. There's not an easy road ahead of you, but it's worth every second.

I was stunned when I opened that letter. Its quite an honor to have been hand picked. I'm my case, there were ~150 applicants and only 20 accepted. Goes to show you, the work DOES pay off!

I'm starting my second semester in the fall and excited to be on my way! It flies by! Keep us posted on your progress and good luck to you. Post if you need anything.

Cheers!!!

Our orientation isn't until August either!!!! I feel like time is going so slow get too fast! Lol

CONGRATULATIONS to you all!!!:w00t: :yeah:

I am anxiously counting down the days! 57 more days until the first day of classes!! EEKK!

i'm excited to get on with it already. last semester i took about 25 credits and was so busy all the time and now i have almost nothing to do. it is making me depressed. i am volunteering at my local hospital and finishing off a cna course at my college but i still have so much free time! i am trying to appreciate it b/c as soon as august comes i'll be in a time crunch but it's hard because you just want to get started already!!!

i actually bought most of my supplies already because they were required for cna class, i just need scrubs.....i might buy a new pair of nurse mates we'll see.....

Everything I think about and talk about right now is NURSING SCHOOL..LOL I know my friends and family are sick of me too!!! The days are going by so slow!!! I never wanted summer to be over so fast!!!!

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!!!

Congrats!

I had the same feeling!

After the first week of the semester, I was like...is it May yet?! (end of the semester)

I am thankful for having the summer off, and I am one who doesn't like to take breaks...but I really needed it. Nursing school is def like no other.

I am so excited like you are!!! I am even excited to go get my second round of vaccinations on Tuesday, just because it means I am one step closer with my preparations!! I have 49 days 9 hours 5 minutes until my orientation but who's counting!?!?
