Got any ideas? We are supposed to submit a list to our nurse manager, and I'm not aware of anything. Thanks.

Why don't you go on the manufacturers sites or call their reps? I'm sure they'd be more than happy to send you samples.
....I wanted to know what, if any thing other NICU's have reciently gotten and really liked. Reps just tell you anything to make a sale, I don't like sales people. I want the real true scoup from the nurses.
But guess no one has gotten anything in their units that they really liked reciently...oh well! :)

We have a new product called NeoPrep, used when a baby is on CPAP. It is sort of like a very small piece of Duoderm, but shaped in a way that there is a tab that covers the baby's septum. We had a real problem with damaged septums from the pressure of the CPAP prongs, but there has been a huge improvement since we started using this product.
The only thing new we get on our unit is babies! :chuckle

We just started using a new "boogie sucker" that works pretty good.

The best place to find new gizmos is @ a conference. Children's Medical Ventures is a good company, too. I think we have a "stickie" with a "products" list.

And, here it is!!
That "booger" sucker is very good, I highly recommend it.
I found several items that we liked and really need (I think) and it was so nice of you guys all to respond. :)

Do you know who is the manufacturer of Neoprep? We have tried several things, with some or little success.

We got the new deluxe wee specks, the prone plus positioners, and a holder that suctions to the suction canister to store the 'boogie sucker' in. I believe most of these are from Children's Medical Ventures.
My favorite new product of ours is the prone positioners. They are made of memory foam and make positioning babies on their abdomen so much easier. The only problem I have had with them is the sizing, I usually have to go a size up from what is recommended.

Which 'boogie suckers' are you guys referring to? BBGs? (nicknamed baby booger grabbers at our NICU) Love them.
I don't remember the name of it, but one of our education people was talking about something they had seen at a conference recently that was amazing. it was like a gel-ish type mattress that could keep its shape, so you could literally tuck it under babies for prone positioning and nesting and not needing anything else for developmental positioning. Apparently it's not any more expensive than our current developmental pack with frogs and bendys and stuff.
