Comfortable shoes?

Published

Would anyone like to share what kind of shoes you prefer? Clogs or tennis shoes?

Can you give recommendations on what kind of shoes you have found to be the most comfortable?

I like a good pair of running shoes. My feet are wide so I prefer New Balance but any well fitting quality running shoe will do. Good running shoes have plenty of support and cushion so my feet feel as good at the end of the shift as at the start.

The only time I've had a problem is when I've tried to go with cheap shoes. I saw some running shoes at Costco and bought a pair for work. My feet were tired and aching within hours. I bought expensive insoles but they could not correct the cheap shoes so after a week I replaced the shoes with New Balance 531. My feet feel great!

I have tried several different brands and types of shoes. The shoes I have found most comfortable are K-Swiss Tubes. Though, of course, it is whatever you are going to be comfortable in.

I hate clogs. I feel like I would roll an ankle walking in those.

I like NB. Used up a pair recently. I switched to Nike walking shoes and they're a dream! My feet are no longer tired.

I have crazy high arches and chronic hip pain...I discovered Brooks running shoes a few months into nursing and now I won't wear anything else! I have four pairs that I rotate. My feet literally never hurt even after 4 12's in a row.

Running sneakers. Whenever I get a new pair for running, the old ones become my work shoes.

I have Shoes for Crews, rubber clogs. They're great for disinfecting and washing purposes because it is all rubber. They're non-slip platform and slip-ons, not meant to be worn tight around the feet, but are closed toes and the back is wrapped up as well. Very light weight and I love them because at the end of the day, they're easily cleaned and kicked off the feet.

I'm not a big fan of other shoes, such as tennis shoes, because for one, many I find comfortable are clothed and I'm super paranoid that body fluids or liquid medications might seep through. Plus, they're not as easy to wash compared to these all rubber ones at Shoes for Crews. Two, many don't come non-slip and I'm super clumsy, add liquid to the floor and it's a sure way for me to end up on the stretcher myself lol! I find Dansko heavy on my feet and at the end of the day, make my feet sore. And I guess I have wide feet, because Dansko squeezes the hell out of them.

I guess the best way to go about this is trial and error. Best of luck! :)

When I first was hired, I was "not going to wear those stupid, expensive, Croc-looking clogs." After about 6 months, a friend literally made me borrow her Danskos.

I have 3 bad discs in my lumbar spine, and wonky hips from 15+ years of gymnastics... running around for code team and rolling fatties every 2 hours plus for the ever-continuous poop cleanup was just killing my body.

I swear once I got a pair of the clogs most of my problems improved! I clomped around like a Clydesdale for about a week, but eventually got used to them and could even somewhat run when I needed to.

Forewarning... They weigh like, 2 pounds each, so I would catch myself speeding if I drove in them.

I wore my Nike tennis shoes for a while, but then I started to get skinny feet, and blisters. I decided to try crocs.and even if they r ugly as ever..they r really comfy lol. Sooo who cares what they look like as long as my dogs ain't barking!

I had a pair of Nikes and I loved them (at first). After about a month of working my back was killing me. I have chronic back problems but this was the worst back pain I had ever had. The one morning I literally could not even get out of my bed. I kept the Nikes for a few more months and then my feet and back were both hurting. I heard how good the Danskos were for backs but I wasn't sure about them due to them being clogs and being raised. I was worried about running in them or rolling an ankle. I tried a pair and ended up buying them and my back seriously doesn't hurt at all anymore. I also can run fairly well in them when need be and I haven't rolled an ankle. I can say I will be buying them for a very long time.

I prefer clogs over sneakers only because I don't want anything to spill on my shoe laces of the tennis shoes; I want to be able to just wipe it off swiftly with no stains. I have the Timberland Professional Renova and they are extremely comfortable. I read a lot of great reviews on them and Dansko's weren't cutting it for me so I decided to try the Tim's and I'm so happy I did. Also Akesso makes some extremely comfortable shoes.
