I hear about all types of shoes to wear...not to wear...so Im asking my fellow nurses for their opinion. What to wear or not to wear. I had surgery on my knee in '07 torn meniscus...and sprained ankle in '08. :uhoh3:

i wear Birkenstock Londons and knee high support hose by Juzo. my feet sometimes are a little tired after my 3rd but that's about it, i never have any pain or anything. many i know swear by Danskos clogs. a waitress friend of mine wears Danskos and she never has any problems with her feet hurting.

Crocs for me.

Also I wear "paramedic" boots I find them comfortable plus I know I'm not going to slip when it's wet.

I wear whatever I feel is comfortable which is expensive nurse shoes or expensive tennis shoes. I have ran into very few cheap comfortable shoes. I usually buy at JC PENNY or other mall stores. I try them on both feet, wear them a few hours in the house a few days day and night while keeping the receipt. I take them back if they hurt. I ususally wear Nursemates, Balance, Reebok tennis shoes that have good cushion and support.

Crocs for home.

Think! or Birkenstock for work. My feet are actually sad when I take off my

Think! shoes after 13 or 14 hours. They are that comfortable.

I swear by Dansko clogs. I can be on my feet endlessly with no pain. I also like it that they are kind of stylish and I feel more "dressed" than when I wear running shoes. They are a little spendy but they last for years. I'm on my second pair in six years and they're still going strong.

I wear 20 dollar wal-mart starter tennis shoes or converse chuck taylors... I'll pay for it in 10 years.

I have always worn dansco clogs with closed backs. I waited tables for years and worn these too. Never have aching feet!

Keen low top hiking shoes! These are great if you have high arches. I absolutely love them and they last forever.

All I wear are Dansko professional clogs. They are the only shoes that allow me to be on my feet for 13 hours a day and not get back/knee pain. Any time I wear any other shoes my knees and back are throbbing by the end of the day.

I used to buy an SAS shoe that was kind of a tall oxford but lately I swear by Cobbie Cuddlers at Kmart (the standard oxford kind). I stock up when they put them on sale - they are extremely comfortable, even after a long shift.
