Comfortable Shoes

Published

Hello Everyone!!

I was wondering if you lovely beings could suggest a comfortable pair of shoes to wear. I feel like after walking all day, I am walking on nubs! I want to be in the nursing field for a long time and can't afford to wear my feet out after one year.

Anything??

My personal favorites are New Balance and SAS.

I have weak ankles and edema to my feet and ankles so the lighter the shoe and more cushion between the floor and my feet were recommended by my Dr. I love crocs. They have the sole I look for and they feel light as anything out there.:twocents:

For me, it's been either Nike Shox or New Balance 608s. :)

I've just discovered Naot, an Isreali brand - they're easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They come with a removable support pad which contours itself to the shape of your foot and that you can replace with orthotics if required. I can feel my posture improve and my knees aren't achy. The shoes are light but supportive, and I haven't needed to break them in, which is fantastic. I liked them so much (and I hate buying shoes) that I bought four pairs in three days - black lace up shoes, brown ankle boots, navy slip ons (that I'm wearing as I type), and pistachio leather sandals. They look good and they feel fantastic!

Believe it or not, my friends and I discovered inexpensive comfortable shoes at the Mervyn's shoe dept many years ago and began to wear them. However, Mervyn's stopped selling the white shoes after a time. Otherwise, I prefer SAS shoes when I splurge on the real thing. I have been buying the cheap white walking shoes or sports shoes at Payless. Since they don't hurt my feet, I find they're ok for me and my wallet.

Dansko's all the way!

Ditto. They're the only brand that don't hurt my feet (trust me folks...I tried all kinds). Well worth the money IMHO.

Birkenstocks are the best, Dansko's hurt.

I think if you are young maybe Dansko would be okay. At 47 tho, i like Klogs the best. i work 12 hour shifts and my feet rarely hurt.
