Dansko Shoes are killing my feet!!!
I feel your pain, this happened to me also. However, in my experience, they just needed to be fully broken in. Couple weeks maybe. But I'd rotate them in slowly, instead of wearing the new shoes 24/7. I've been through a lot of shoes, and always have trouble finding a good pair as I have a high instep, wide foot, plus wear an 11 - and the dankso's are truly gems to me. As a side note, if you have any wrinkles in the insoles, it will be very uncomfortable. My recommendation, based on my personal experience, would be to rip out the insoles if they are wrinkled. The shoe store can usually get free replacement insoles, and all you would have to do is pay a cobbler to glue them in. However, one pair is still without the insoles, and they are just fine. And I'm not just saying that because I am lazy, it's actually not bad.

How do I keep them white?
Believe it or not, I've found SoftScrub to work well. If you have not heard of it - you'll be able to find it in the cleaning aisle of the market. Apply a small bit of softscrub on an old rag, and gently work it circles, then rinse with water. But I'd use it sparingly, or dilute the softscrub with a bit of water. I used this on my nike tennis shoes. Oh, and if you have the choice, avoid the lemon scent - kind of weird. :)

Dating at work
I've got a good quote for you. "Don't get your meat where you get your bread." :) My personal opinion is I have been there, done that, got the t-shirt and have vowed never to do it again. Especially if you are working for a small institution, or are in the same department. However, a big institution, might not be such a big deal. What I have learned is that workplace romances can be scandalous, and even moreso if he is attractive to the ladies. People talk. It is almost as if they cannot help themselves. How did she get him? Did I see the two of them walk into the broom closet? She/he can do better etc... My suggestion is life is short. Be sensible, and go slowly - just saying be sure to take time to get to know the person. It's amazing what people will show you about themselves if you give them enough time. :) Thanks for your post, I have been waiting for an occasion to use the 'don't get your meat where you get your bread' line.
