The midwest is getting ready for our first blizzard of the season set to hit later today. Prayers are requested for a nice snow day tomorrow! :)
We've been having such gorgeous weather though! I'm not ready for snow! Our districts here in Minnesota never close anyway! I remember one winter when the GOVERNOR had to close the schools for a -70 degree windchill because the schools wouldn't.
In Chicagoland we closed a few years ago for days with -50 wind chills. At that temp it's dangerous for kids to stand at the busstop because they could get frost bite in minutes. It's not about catering to kids who can't take the cold.
Popham is beautiful. We go to Reid State Park too, which is also beautiful. Lots of black flies at both those places in the summer.Did you wear shorts? Last weekend was shorts weather up here!!!
No shorts, not that warm, but great beach walking weather! Not usually the black flies but he green head flies there, they are like pterodactyls!

They must be more cautious now, they closed our district two hours early and we got maybe 2-3 inches yesterday. We did get really lucky with the weather this year though, I had to convince my daughter it was time to put away the capris this week :)
