Columbia University-ETP

Published

Hey everyone. I was just wondering who applied to Columbia University's ETP program.

I got an email today telling me to keep logging into the website where I applied to check on the status of my application. Has anyone else got this email? And does anyone know approximately when they begin to post decisions?

I'm nervous as this was my #2 school.

stiejunkie! Yay another Vermonter. I'm so happy. I'm still in Burlington. Grew up in Middlebury, and went to UVM as an undergrad too. when did you graduate? I finished up in 2004, but i started late (23). Anyway - ANP with me? YAY! I'm going to be so nervous and grateful for help anyone can give me navigating the city. Jose assures me i'll be fine... but still intimidated!

I like the facebook idea! I've been looking more into Columbia, and I have to say i'm impressed and definately going to give it a shot on visitors day. I'm so excited to meet you all!!!

cool - well feel free to facebook me - look me up by e.mail "[email protected]" - just put a note so I know who you are .. and then i'll make a group or event page or something for us :)

I'll join in a Facebook group too. When you have it setup, let us know and I can PM you my contact info.

I also haven't heard anything yet for the Midwifery/WHNP track... at this point I'm pretty sure it's a rejection. Why else haven't they sent out a decision yet?Any news would be appreciated right now, denial or acceptance. My stomach can't take this waiting anymore. :barf01::barf02:

At least I'll know it's time to begin Plan B, ya know?

For those who are Columbia bound, I know you guys will have an amazing experience and I wish you all the success in the world as students and future CNM/NP's!!

I was thinking the same about Facebook last night, too! I just joined the general Columia ETP group last night, bit let's get something together for our class. Pls PM with the info!

Hi everyone!! I was just accepted to the Nurse-Midwifery speciality ..and I really can't believe it either! I live in southern New Jersey right outside of Philadelphia, although I lived in NH for about a year and a half for fun.

I've read a few places that it's possible to switch your speciality. does anyone know for sure? I know it's hard to switch INTO nurse-midwifery but i'm really interested in geriatric NP after working in an assisted living facility as a nurse's aid in NH .

I know Penn lets you switch easily..does anyone know if Columbia does??

YAY congrats to everyone..and for those still waiting on columbia or other schools...HANG IN THERE!!!!

Count me in for an fb group too! Send me the deets when it gets set up!

Hey all :) Just made the facebook group - it's invite only ... so private message me your info and I will look you up and invite you to the group! :)

change of plan - i am limited to 25 private messages on here - so, since you have to be my "facebook friend" to invite you to the group just request me on facebook with a little note saying your a columbia etp person and i will send you an invite to the group. email me via my profile for more info. :)

please do not post email addresses on the public message boards, as is it against our tos. thanks~ the mod team

Hey all, it is so nice to see everyone writing so much. I haven't checked since we got our acceptances on Tuesday! I am here in the NY area so I am definitely going to the admitted students visitng day.

I know someone who is doing ETP now and it's interesting to hear from a current student. She's busy but has been able to shed some light on the program. She said the summer is really hard core so I encourage everyone to live it up now before all the craziness starts!!!

I'm still waiting on other schools but I do think in the end it will be Columbia. I think if some other school gave me a really tempting financial aid package I'd have to take it. I hope we get our financial aid info from Columbia soon.

Great with the facebook group! I was going to mention that but glad you got it up and running!

Hi Everyone,

I just receive an email from Oscar saying that they got my FAFSA and will sent me my financial aid package soon through email. Does anyone else get the same email?
