Columbia University-ETP

Published

Hey everyone. I was just wondering who applied to Columbia University's ETP program.

I got an email today telling me to keep logging into the website where I applied to check on the status of my application. Has anyone else got this email? And does anyone know approximately when they begin to post decisions?

I'm nervous as this was my #2 school.

Yes, i am ACNP. I'm also from California, the Bay Area.

I think it is quite easy to switch specialities at Columbia, except for Nurse Anesthesia and Midwifery (at least this is what I heard). I also heard that quite a few students leave the program after receiving their BSN. I would be interested in finding out why.

Where in the bay area? I'm from Hayward! hah.

It's about 6:37 pm in NY. I'm guessing this concludes another long day of waiting.

Ok thank you for all of you who have been encouraging us who are still waiting. I went to the groceries store and got some fudge brownies to bake and have a movies night w/ friends. Good luck to those who are still waiting with me.

Hi megandan and midwife2012, if we all going to the visit day, we should definitely meet up!

I'm in for acute care! Looking forward to it!

AcuteCareinProgress, when did you get your decision?

Tues. I got turned down for anesthesia, but accepted to the general program and was able to select AC.

Seems like my earlier theory probably still holds true after all: those who got admitted seem to have received their letters on Tuesday. I haven't heard of anyone in this forum who actually received a rejection letter on Tuesday. So probably Columbia is wording their rejection letters right now and waiting until Friday to send them to us. I didn't know it was so hard for Columbia to send out rejection letters.

Congrats to those who got in.

I think that a lot of people who got rejected may not feel like posting about it (I wouldn't), so I wouldn't assume you haven't gotten in!

AcuetCareinProgress -- Thank you for trying to cheer us up -- but I think it's about time we face reality.
