  1. i'm sorry to hear of your troubles, jenn! have you tried wells fargo as a lender for your private loan? i applied last week, and was approved yesterday.
  2. hi! i have am gearing up to start columbia's etp 2009 cohort, focusing on FNP or PNP, with an onc specialty. it sounds like you are on your way with your applications! all of your choices are top schools; i know that penn also has a great oncology program if you are interested in staying close to new york. best of luck in the process, and feel free to PM me with any more questions.
  3. i got the same msg; i plan on checking out the stethoscopes on the web for a comparison, as i'm planning to go with the most cost-efficient package with the best 'scope. regarding the uniforms; last year's posters recommended buying 3-4 sets (skipping the skirt), and said that there would be uniforms to try on for size at visitor's day.
  4. jenn - i'm so sorry that you won't be joining us in may! congratulations on marquette, and best of luck with your studies! sevillaes - congrats on the deposit :)
  5. jenn, were you approved for the wells fargo loan? you can PM or email me if you don't want to post it here...
  6. dg, Thanks for your input. I read on this forum that many etp students are hired from their integraton sites. Is this true?
  7. well said, sevillaes! I could not agree with you any more. This will me a difficult, yet fulfilling career, and worth every struggle to achieve it.
  8. I've been browsing craigslist, too, and would love to live in the Upper West Side. As I live in SF, my only time to visit before my move is for Visitor's Day, so I'm hoping to link up with someone then if not before!
  9. Hi All! What are your plans for housing? I'm planning/hoping to live off campus, and ideally would like to find another ETP student to share a two bedroom in Wash Heights, Morningside, or the West Side. Thoughts?
  10. Hey Tempest, I talked to Oscar yesterday, and he said that I should be getting my financial aid info on Monday. I'll let you know my numbers once I find out.
  11. I was thinking the same about Facebook last night, too! I just joined the general Columia ETP group last night, bit let's get something together for our class. Pls PM with the info!
  12. ha! There are a few of us bay area direct entry applicants posting ok there threads... Congrats on your acceptances and interviews this far! Every school you listed boasts an amazing program; you'll have a quality education and experience wherever you end up. I love living in the city, and if you get on to UC's program, I'm sure you would, too. Best of luck in your decision process.
  13. I felt the same way about UCSF if I had gotten in there, too! However, fate and the UCSF Admissions Committee stepped in and made the decision for me. I actually work at UCSF now in the hematopathology department, and live in the city. Where in CA are you from?
  14. count me in to meet up, too!
