Has anyone started a thread yet? The application is due in 174 days and as you can see I'm already obsessing.
Anyone else?!
Anyone have any insight on the best equipment package to buy? I'm not trying to spend $200, but I want to make sure buying the cheaper packages won't leave me lacking. I'm a little confused about how they're calculating costs because if you look on the med bookstore site, everything required (except the high end stethoscopes) are pretty cheap.
I know the Yale GEPNs had a facebook page in years past and even did a questionnaire about hosing preferences, level of neatness, etc to help match roommates. Maybe someone who is for sure going to the ETP program could start something similar? I would do it but it would be silly for me to start it and then end up accepting a Yale offer.
i was thinking about this last night! since a fb group is now available, i don't mind starting a googledoc for people to post about their preferences and such. there might be something like this already available through the school so i'll check first.. personally, i am leaning towards on-campus housing just to make things easier on myself, but hard to say if i'll actually get a room.
I am with you on that (not wanting to pay $200 for supplies)! I have started looking on amazon and few other places. There are some deals. However, once you factor in shipping costs, you aren't saving much. The package at the bookstore is actually pretty good for what you are getting. Littman III's go for a min of $130 on amazon + shipping. The bookstore package is $180 something and i has a few other things included. Let me know if you guys find any really good/ strong bags for clinicals.
As for shoes, don't buy them on the Dansko website, if that's the style you're going for. I have already found a few coupon codes for other sites that sell them or ones that are similar.
