Has anyone started a thread yet? The application is due in 174 days and as you can see I'm already obsessing.
Anyone else?!
They look at EVERYTHING so it's not solely based on grades. I know someone who was accepted with an undergrad GPA of 3.0 but stellar essay
That's been my understanding as well. I don't think I would have gotten my first acceptance if schools without interviews were only looking at GPA. Essays count for a good deal!
I feel like I'm the only one who put all my eggs in one basket by only applying to Columbia .. I wish I knew whether my essay was making up for where I lacked as far as a 4.0 GPA but since I didn't apply anywhere else I don't. I tried not to think about it and it worked for like a week lol but now anxiety is at an all time high knowing decisions are right around the corner. Good luck guys!!
Does anyone know if anyone reapplied to Columbia after not getting in and eventually got in? This has been on my mind a lot lately.
I know this is easier said than done but don't stress yourself until you need to!! I'm sure this is totally possible. If it does come to that you can try to contact admissions and ask what they might like to see more of on your application so you can work towards that.
I've been working and preparing for graduation :) been trying to keep busy but I can't stop fantasizing. I've applied to other schools but Columbia is my top choice. I work in the ER and got my shift covered next Friday so I can refresh my account every half a second
haha I'm supervising next Friday at a particularly busy office which means i'll either have a bunch of pediatric patients scared of the extremely emotional mess supervising the medical assistants or they'll see one really really happy woman and think i'm crazy lol.. either way, super nervous!!! I'm also trying to keep busy with my last semester of classes which started this week.. I have a move night planned with my son next friday to see Spongebob lol.. it'll either be a celebratory night or a good distraction from tears

That's good! I don't have a good undergrad GPA but my prerequisite GPA is 4.0 so hopefully they do look at the whole person.
