Hey Y'all!
I'm getting ready to apply to the Columbia's ETP for 2010. I was just wondering who else was applying and what you were doing to make your application stronger! Also where else are you applying and what do your stats look like (GPA, GRE, experience, etc) ? I'm getting nervous as I start the whole application process and just thought I'd turn to the forums for some support and guidance!
I'm looking forward to sharing the journey with y'all! Hope to hear from you soon! :)

I agreed w/ the previous poster. Don't worry too much if you're wait listed, it's a pricey school at CU. They have high turn over rate, that's why they have wait list option this year. They didn't have that last year. Good luck to all. I got accepted, but not really sure if I want to spend all my bling bling. Still waiting for three more schools. Don't give up for those of you who didn't make it! Work hard and soon you'll find your destiny.
that's good to know about the waitlist - thanks! now that people bring up the whole money issue, can you defer for a year (for money reasons) if they accept you later off the waitlist? this is my first time around applying to grad schools, and so i'm not quite clear on these details. not to mention, i'm not sure that i could afford this program, even if i had gotten flat out accepted initially. any advice/info from experience?
I did not get accepted (applied to the Anesthesia track). I am pretty heartbroken right now since NYC is already my home and I just can't bear to leave my life here -- I adore my apt, my roommates, & my friends here. Maybe I will just stay in my current job and re-apply again nxt year. To give you an idea of my what my app entailed here's a mini-resume...
B.S. in Biochem with Chem minor. 4.0 GPA
3 yrs working as a research biochemist at a pharmaceutical company
several yrs experience volunteering in various healthcare settings
also various non-healthcare volunteer experience
GRE: 1230
If anyone has any suggestions on how I could improve my application, please feel free to let me know!!
I also applied to U. Miami & Yale. Miami is my next choice...
My sincerest, warmest, congrats to all who were accepted. Manhattan is a fantastic town and you will love it. Even though it is crazy expensive. Ugh I guess on the bright side I don't have to move to Harlem... But seriously, the diversity, the ambition, and the energy that the city embodies is unparalleled.
Hi all! I was waitlisted for FNP. I'm totally fine with it though. Columbia has such a great program, but they are also very expensive. I got into my first choice school already, so I am happy about that. Congrats to all who were accepted/waitlisted! Good luck to those who are still awaiting decisions from other schools!
oooladoula,
I'm also interested in hearing about your credentials since I also want to be in the CNM track. Could you possibly forward me some of your information? It would be greatly appreciated! :)
Congratulations everyone, I did not get in either. I hope to see you next year when I reapply!!

To all the accepted applicants, do you have any pre-requisites that are currently in progress (that you are taking now in the spring semester)? If so, in the letter that you just received, was that missing pre-requisite mentioned? Thanks, I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything.
