  1. Thanks for your 2cents whispera. You're right, it's probably different for everyone and fortunately I don't have a family yet, so it's best for me to apply soon!
  2. I'm looking to find out how long the traditional MS program is at BC if done full-time. Or if you did it part-time, how long did you take to finish? Did you work at the same time? Any input greatly appreciated.
  3. ?!?! Where did you go??? so,if I took 2 classes per semester while working (which is essentially part-time), it would feel like more than full-time worth of study + the stress of work?!
  4. I also would like to know. Although, I went through an accelerated BSN program, spending sometimes over 70 hours a week on coursework + clinicals so perhaps I couldn't get the right idea.
  5. Did anybody attend the info. session this month?? Anything useful?? By the way.. I still haven't received anything about our orientation date yet. Just to make sure, it's on MAY 16, CORRECT???
  6. Marinoh, if you want more information, you should find the 2010 forum for MGH!
  7. Hi nurse916, I graduated Spring 2010 with a 3.48 GPA in Psychology/Neuroscience from U. of Mass. Amherst. My grades for my prerequisite classes were actually not too high, perhaps 3.3. But I think I had really strong recommendations: 1 from my lab PI(principal investigator), 1 from a professor that I had also been a teaching asst. for, and 1 from my manager at a hospitality job. I am fresh out of college, so I had barely any healthcare experience, only volunteer experience here and there. This was actually my second-time applying to MGHI--last year I was waitlisted--so I had updated my personal statement as well. Hope this helps! Did you apply other schools as well?
  8. Marinoh, omgosh, I am soo envious of you right now. I just got my acceptance letter at MGHI as well, and I was thinking back to when I received that scholarship e-mail with the application. By the time I actually found the e-mail, the application date had already past, and I kicked myself for that!! Oh well. I probably could not have competed. Please do update us if you will be going to that school, and you should visit the MGH ABSN forum!! Congratulations on the scholarship, and maybe I will see you at MGHI!! :)
  9. May 16th... that's just around the corner!!! I can't believe they provided next to no information with the acceptance letter. Now I have to start thinking about finances and what to do next. I haven't heard from my 2 other schools yet, but am pretty sure this is going to be my top choice. Ready to send in my deposit soon!! For the two other people, are you still waiting to hear from other schools or are you going to just send in your deposits??? I totally forgot how the FAFSA process works! As soon as we finish our FAFSA, when will we get aid?? I remember from college that we didn't get aid until over the summer; and by then, our sessions have already begun. Someone please fill me in. Nikki164, I know how you feel. Hang in there!!! Good news will come soon. :)
  10. Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread. I also got accepted into the program as a second-time applicant and I am over the moon with joy!! Congrats Walshle28 and Formyle ), we are officially classmates. Nikki164, I am in the ABSN program. Did you apply or are you looking into applying in the future? Does anyone have any idea when the program actually starts?? I am praying for everyone else who have not heard anything yet )
  11. Hi All, Thought I'd join and let everyone know that I'm also applying as a second-time applicant to the midwifery specialty. It's been a long journey for me as my next step is just getting into a graduate program. I mistakenly only applied to two schools last year. Though, I'm only applying to 4 schools this time around... I only qualify for the prerequisites of four schools in the northeast region. So, I really hope to get into at least one. I have just begun on my personal statement and there's only a little more than a month left, so, I am kicking myself in the butt. It's my final thing left on my to-do list but it's definitely tougher this year just because it's my second time writing one and I'm out of ideas. Anyway, I wish everyone the best of luck!
  12. Hi everyone, I'm currently on the waiting list, and I recently received a letter from MGHIHP stating that they've released their waiting list applicants due to the overwhelming situation. Has anyone else received this letter??? I'm pretty upset that they did this, and I don't see the point since people are still capable of dropping out because classes haven't started yet. Well, either way, I am ready to reapply next year. -Anna
  13. oooladoula, sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the information!!
  14. oooladoula, I'm also interested in hearing about your credentials since I also want to be in the CNM track. Could you possibly forward me some of your information? It would be greatly appreciated! :) Congratulations everyone, I did not get in either. I hope to see you next year when I reapply!!
  15. Just 2 more days, hang in there everyone!!!!
