Columbia ETP Program 2012 entry

I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.

I agree, they will most certainly allow you to roll into the Regular Decision category. You don't want to just be considered incomplete. I would call the admissions office ASAP and explain what is happening. They may even let you still apply ED.

i sent an email and they're willing to extend it to friday. so hopefully my references make it in time!

good luck 2nurse1! Have you had contact with your recommenders? Do they know that they missed the initial deadline and you had to get it specially extended? I hope they get their act together this time.

Just looking at the "Your application has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee" is making me so nervous and antsy!! If I get into CUSON and find out before December 31st, I can avoid applying to half of the schools I'm planning to apply to. That tweet looks like they said the decisions would come out mid to late December..I wonder where people heard early December then? Either way, I agree that I think it must come out before the holidays (and probably not Christmas Eve or something cruel!) because they'll want to get it all done before the holidays. Ahh..the suspense!!!

Yes, I was thinking the the same thing: this could either be the most wonderful holiday gift, or a rather disheartening lump of "coal" in my grad school "stocking." Ha! We shall see!

Did everyone here already received the "application forwarded to admission committee" email? I still haven't received one and I handed my application in Sept 30th. Anyone else in the same boat??

I haven't gotten it yet, but I think it's because my online status still indicates they haven't received two of my transcripts (is anything from your application apparently still "missing"?).

I know they've got the transcripts (FedEx tracking shows they got it a couple weeks ago), but apparently they're updating the online system all this week after they go through all the apps they've received.

If that online status doesn't change on Friday, I'll get in touch with them to confirm again that they've actually got everything.

Yes, a lot of my stuff was listed as missing. J*** was out last week, and now I think he's sorting through everything. He said he has to manually transfer my data from last year's application to this year's. I'm going to wait to hear from him re: the "missing" stuff (which they have, somewhere, in their files!).

I haven't gotten the email yet, either. How are you guys checking to see if things are missing? Where on your application does it show your transcripts, etc.?

so my recommender sent it in and the other one will have it in by friday! *fingers crossed*. i checked online for my status and everythings received except for the references. its kinda scary how fast this is going but hopefully it'll be a good holiday this year! :) i actually checked online before i received the email and i'm sure they're still sorting through the paperwork and what not.

when I log into the application system, the first page I see has this message on it:

"Submission Status: Submitted

Submitted Date: .... PM EST

Initial review shows missing admissions requirements, please see status."

Then it lists all the required components of the application, and whether or not they have been received. That message has been up there for several weeks, so maybe they did a first pass at seeing which apps were complete last month or something.
