  1. How easy/difficult is it to change specialties?
  2. I just got in for Pediatrics! Congrats everyone, can't wait to see you guys on visiting day! Is anyone setting up a facebook group?
  3. I just got another "thanks for your interest" email too! I nearly jumped out of my seat. I am growing more and more excited as mid December approaches, and I can barely contain myself! Good luck to all the other Early Decision applicants.
  4. I have! I did better on quant after having taken the original. Probably fur to a great deal of studying , never the less I still did better on the revised GRE.
  5. You can call CUSON admissions and ask, but I would say that you should use standard margins. Don't freak out, I'm sure your essay is fantastic. All you need to do is some good old snip and clip. I had the same issue when I was writing my personal statement.
  6. Just a quick heads up to all those who took the GRE post Aug. 1st: Scores are now posted on the ETS website! Best of luck to everyone!
  7. Congrats! Its great you have exciting things going on right now.
  8. I agree, they will most certainly allow you to roll into the Regular Decision category. You don't want to just be considered incomplete. I would call the admissions office ASAP and explain what is happening. They may even let you still apply ED.
  9. Here is a tweet from CUSON on twitter when asked about ED decisions: "CUSONAdmissions Columbia SON @oobaoo Early dec gets you a decision in mid/late Dec, and isnt binding. Doesnt gives higher pref but it does show CUSON is your 1st choice. 11 Oct"
  10. Wow, really?! I could have sworn they informed us early to mid Dec. Oh well, guess whatever it is, we are waiting : )
  11. Ok you ED ETP Applicants, Day 1 is down! Only 50-65 days to go....We can do it!
  12. Wow, it really sounds like you have nothing to worry about! Isn't it a great feeling...having everything the way you want it and being done? I am so happy that they are offering ED. Columbia is my first choice, I've gone up to their info sessions and I am really hoping I get accepted to their program. Like I said, I recently graduated. I spent the past four years in New Orleans. I became really invested in helping in the recovery process after Katrina. I did a large amount of work with children in a rehabilitation center for women and their children doing play-therapy. It really was the light that went on for me. I was really moved by my experience and found it extremely challenging. I majored in neuroscience. I really enjoy biology and psychology, but I have come to realize, I want to work with patients and not in a lab setting. I did research for an endocrinology laboratory, and worked primarily on the behavioral end. I am interested in preventing/treating childhood diabetes, abnormalities in growth development. So, Im living in New York now and I just started working at a hospital in the Peds department. Loving it, and Im glad Im getting the experience!
  13. 2nurse1, SNAFU: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNAFU
  14. I just graduated, and have spent the past four years in New Orleans. I'm living in New York, and am applying in NY and Boston programs as well!
  15. Don't worry, 2nurse1. Not all is lost, look at it this way (worst case senario) you still apply regular decision to Columbia SON, and it won't hinder you in any way...the only thing you'll have to endure is a little bit longer of a wait for your decision. Im sure it will all work itself out. Your Recs won't leave you hanging, but if, for some reason, there is a SNAFU you still have just as good of a chance of getting in as the rest of us!
