COLLIN COLLEGE - Spring 2021

Hi guys! I thought I’d make a new forum for those applying to the Spring program at Collin College.

I applied for the fall semester, but I was not accepted, the fall term was extremely competitive. I was told that they had an unprecedented amount of applicants last cycle, there were over 400 applicants. Also, the average TEAS score of the applicants was 87.5. I retook my TEAS last week and made a 92!

Unfortunately Collin is the only one I meet the requirements at this point. Dallas community college you need Chemistry, which I don’t have the exact one they need. And universities are too expensive, I would prefer ADN first. I researched other CC programs as well and Collin seems to be the best and where I have the highest chance getting in with what I already have.  I know I’m like right at that spot where it could go either way depending on other applicants.  Still a bit aways but just trying to think ahead. I am contemplating taking the TEAS again to see if I can get higher to get me a little closer to 19 points haha the struggle.  

Have you taken statistics already? If yes then you can apply to NCTC. It’s really great too

I haven’t! My prior degree never needed statistics ? so the only classes I have taken since graduating and deciding to pursue nursing is ethics, a and p 1 and 2, micro, and pharmacology!  I have many of the general courses like English and psych too of course from my prior degree.  Thanks for the help though I appreciate you!

I did not get in but I knew I wouldn't because I have micro still in progress and my TEAS was a 79 (I had a 96 in math, 91 in reading, and 71 in English, but the Science killed me) but I took a shot.  I plan to reapply for the fall. Also applying to NCTC and WGU. I did email them and ask what the average scores were for the people admitted and this is what they told me.

The average score of the pre-requisite GPA and TEAS accepted for this application period was 3.78 GPA and 84.1% TEAS score.  

They again had an unprecedent amount of applicants.  She also made it out like they didn't even consider your application if you weren't done with all 3 prerequisites.  

Just wanted to give those of you who didn't make it some info for the next cycle.  ?

Hello guys! I didn't get in ?, however I was fortunate enough to get accepted into the 1year LVN program at Tyler Jr College. I am super excited for the detour that GOD has placed me on. I will be a nurse this route so much faster!

If you didn’t make it in, they will send you a rejection email, but it may come after a few days. I’m not sure if acceptance emails are still being sent out or not, but I’d call them and ask!
