COLLIN COLLEGE - Spring 2021

Updated:   Published

Hi guys! I thought I’d make a new forum for those applying to the Spring program at Collin College.

I applied for the fall semester, but I was not accepted, the fall term was extremely competitive. I was told that they had an unprecedented amount of applicants last cycle, there were over 400 applicants. Also, the average TEAS score of the applicants was 87.5. I retook my TEAS last week and made a 92!

Hey thanks so much, I took your advice and called and turns out they had the wrong email address. And so now im kinda just waiting to see what will happen from there.

Yay! Congrats! I’m a little nervous too, but I’ll deal with the anxiety once the program actually starts ?

Thank you so much? I got accepted to Nursing program in another state this Fall. Even got my uniform and books. I was sooooo excited ?But because we were in process of relocation to Texas (my husband got a job here), I had to drop the program there. Thank God, Collin College was still accepting applications at that time, so I was able to apply. I'm so happy I got in? Congratulations to you too?

That’s awesome, so happy you were able to apply and make it! Where did you move from?

We moved from California.

how can I prepare for the reading section, any suggestions?

Hi everyone. I am new to this Nursing Forum.

By some miracle I got accepted to Collin College's 2021 Nursing Program on my first try.

I did horrible on the TEAS (73) because I crammed, but I got a 4.0 GPA on all my sciences so I think that helped.

My advice to those who did not get in: Don't be bitter, be better and Don't take it as a rejection. See it as an opportunity to better your TEAS, better your GPA, better your finances (since the struggle will be real for most of us).

I wish everyone a great day!

I have a question.  Does your grade in Micro account for any points?  Everyone keeps talking about their GPA but I thought you only received points from A&P 1 and A&P 2.  Is your GPA a point factor as well?  Just curious as I am in micro now and I need to make sure I'm doing the absolute best I can if it's a factor. I have an A and B in A&P.  Thanks!

Oh and @Alonzo getting in with a 73 TEAS is amazing!  I had a 79 with very little studying as well but I plan to retake. I didn't feel like I'd get in this cycle with still being in progress with Micro.

I think they are referencing their GPA, in terms of their science prerequisites. Your grades in other classes have no bearing on admission. So, your micro grade itself is not factored into your application, they only account for it being completed. You gain 1 total point for having completed all three prerequisites. However, last application cycle, they actually scored it a little differently, last term, you’d get one point PER prerequisite completed. So, I don’t know how they factor in points now for those who still have micro in progress!
