College Network

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I have an appointment with College Network Rep. this week. I was wondering if anybody has graduated from the program. I am an LPN trying to get my RN. If anybody has any information I would greatly appreciate it.

This wont work because you need to send the transcripts to excelsior. You can not share the same modules they said it was illegal and you wont get the credits

No offense but whoever told you that was full of doodoo. :trout: The module is just like any other textbook. You buy it, its yours and you can do with it what you want. There is no requirement from Excelsior to use a specific book or module to prepare. They could care less.

The college network inc. has no relationship, association or affiliation with Excelsior college. That is word for word off the bottom of the info obtained form TCN whether your going to excelsior or Isu you test with different places (dantes, clep and or Excelsior college) they don't know what material you used to study. When you test at clep or dantes you tell them where you want your test scores(also transcripts) to be sent and with excelsior from what I'm told you wait till you test out of all classes if you are an ISU student then request your official transcript to be sent to your college.

I have to let you gals/guys know that your are inspiration to me. One min I'm thinking can I really do this and then I get on here and see how far all of you have come and say to myself "if they can do I can do it".

I had to do one gen ed - sociology. I took Gerontology, used the Excelsior study guides and the texts, and got an A.

I have *not* done a straight science through Excelsior, but I would think you'd be much better off spending $30 on something like "Micro for Dummies" or "A & P made Incredibly Easy" than signing a contract for thousands of dollars.

And you're welcome. I'm thrilled that you found a program that works for you, in California.

I really didn't understand what you were saying about sociology and taking gerentology. Did you take the sociology test or what? and how did you study?...did u finish the TCN module before you tested out of that class or did you use another method? can you help me with the sociology course and the first module for TCN pls. I have all my modules and I don't know where to start and right now my concern is passing my test with an A

Thanks

hi, i was wondering if you were still doing the college network? I was interested in doing it, but after reading so many negative reviews, I am starting to get worried. But I think it depends on each student.

Emmie, I just saw this.

I took the Excelsior gerontology exam. I did not use TCN. I read the texts.

I tried it, but it was not for me I am going back to the community college in the summer. I have a friend who just finished the program in Dec. So it all depends on the type of learner you are. I found out I need to be in a class :typing

Don't do it you don't need to throw away money on this I did it and then found out you can go onto Excelsior and download for free the study guides you need for each test.

Please don't do it these folks need to be put out of business.

No referral bonus anymore they will pay for a test for each refferal.

I know you are right but I found out to late. I can't cry over I just have to learn from my mistake and move foward.

Ok..Im in California and just signed up with TCN. I have read the thread over and over..It mentions excelsior college(former regeants college), but TCN says its not affiliated with them. So Excelsior is a real online college? Are you supposed to just go through them? Why are they cheaper? Do they accept people in California? As far as clepping out of the courses..Isn't there a limit to how many classes you can clep out of? TCN says I have 9 courses to take before I get to phase 2 courses.

Can someone tell me the process? How to get into indiana state for the step up to RN BSN with out TCN?

Call ISU directly. They will direct you. The numbers are:
