Pretty funny. Of course I wasn't there.... but it's pretty funny! (No lock on the inside? No chair to jam up under the door knob to at least slow someone down? Come on people! Use your common sense and your critical thinking skills!!!)....I walked to the exam room, opened the door and turned on the light just as the elevator doors open and discharged a full load of visitors, house staff and an attending physician. All of us got a clear eyefull of the (married) ER Director with his pants around his ankles having an "intimate moment" with the (married to someone ELSE) Director of Nurses. :imbar :imbar I was young and stupid -- just stood there with my mouth (and the door) wide open! The ER Director kept his job (but not his wife). The Director of nurses lost her job -- don't know about her marriage. And I didn't last long on that floor. But that's another story!
This didn't happen to me personally, but when I was a Tech in the ED, another tech told me that she ahd just gone to get a patient out of one of the few private rooms in the ED to take her somewhere (I forget where) and so she knocked and then walked in to the room to find the pt on the stretcher and the patient's boyfriend with his face buried south of the border just going to town!
The scariest thing was, the girl was there for lady partsl discharge!
Ewww, gross, lol

Read a story in the "Scary Docs" thread about an expectant father walking in on his wife's OB and the office nurse . . . it was pretty funny. It made me wonder how many have walked in on something similar.
In the early 80s, I was new to a large university teaching hospital -- just off orientation, as a matter of fact. During our orientation we'd had a talk from the ER Director and from the Director of Nurses (among others).
Just inside our unit, and clearly visible from the elevators, we had an exam room for performing pelvics, etc. (Bad design, really bad design! When we had a patient in there, we closed the fire doors, blocking the view from the elevator so the patient couldn't be seen as we opened the door to go in and out.) One afternoon I was instructed to set up for a pelvic. I walked to the exam room, opened the door and turned on the light just as the elevator doors open and discharged a full load of visitors, house staff and an attending physician.
