Co-worker talking behind my back "did i handel this right"

There are some days I fell like I am still in school (5th grade) :uhoh3: today I found out that a co-worker (the boss's pet ) was going around and talking behind my back . My boss had been giving me evil looks all day and I did not know why ? I was then told that this co-worker was talking about me behind my back , Among other things he was bragging about being able to get the temps fired and had some kind of pool going as to how long it would be tell I was fired . He has openly said he hates he :confused: and I have no idea way I hadly talk to him and have done nothing to him ..

anyway I had to decide wether to talk to him one on one or talk to my boss ? I called my boss because I wanted her to know that what he was saying was not true before I got written up (again ) on his word , he said she would handel it and later he came over and said he was sorry :mad: but now the people that told me what he was saying are mad at me for saying anything :confused: but there is no way I was going to let that ride ?? and later I saw him and my boss playing and my boss just told him he could take the night off for helping her :eek:

I'm not a nurse yet(hope to be one day) I work for the GOV./VA He is about late 20s Ad yes this place is the most backwards messed up nightmare I have ever run into in my life but I am stuck for right now .

I hate the place and messed up way things are run, but hay it's the Gov. right :lol2: I really cannot transfer even thou i was told I could when I was hired :mad: I do LOVE :heartbeat most of my co-workers and do not want to leave .

Are you working in that facility as an agency nurse?

If so, go to your agency, report this behavior. I would write HIM up for verbal assault.

You have the right to "face your accuser".

That means in a moderated setting, he must state his problem, and you may retaliate.

Either way, if he is kissing the boss's tookas, your outta luck.

Time to move on.

Here's what I do...

1. Compose in Word. Make the font as big as you need to see.

2. Spell check in Word and proof read.

3. Copy and paste into allnurses text box.

4. Make it so. :)

I had a problem similar to yours and my response was to be the best damn nurse I can be. If you have a couple of customer service awards, covered a couple of shifts for co-workers and some patient's family members in your corner, you have evidence to who you really are.

Even if you lose your job, a good nurse is a great find and is usually rewarded for the various skill sets they bring to the table.

Finally, don't let your poor eyesight also become a crutch. Improvise, adapt and overcome.

Trek has been through some pretty heinous times lately. She is trying to get back to baseline, and I commend her first of all for reaching out to us, and secondly for getting back into the workforce.

Hearing about horizontal violence makes me feel so sad and dissappointed. Why are these people nurses in the first place? I'm sorry you have to go through this at all.

Trek....if you have a google tool bar add spell check and it then click on the spell check and let it correct then just hit post reply.at the bottom of your post You can also increase the font if you want in the tools on the computer. We are here for you Trek.......:hug:....don't worry about grammar and spelling. I understand you just fine!

I think you are stuck. I think you handeled it the best you could. I think you need to remember how little someone must think of themself to have to put others down to make themselves feel better. I know how badly you want to be a nurse and I admire your tenacity and determination.....pretend that jerk is just a spot on the wall....but remember you are in a protected class of disability and it is illegal to be abusive to the disabled......:hug::hug:.

She misspelled like 5 words. Who cares?! If you didn't have advice for her regarding her current work situation, then you shouldn't have posted anything at all.

Ha. Our old NM let 5 people quit in furious anger when her "pet" stole their hours ($), overtime ($), seats at committee meetings (prestige), and shifted her work onto others because she was talking on the phone all the time. Some of the people that complained first and tried to take it up the chain had been there 11 years and this pet had been there a year tops (after she had been FIRED from 3 other facilities). When management just smiled sweetly and stated that things wouldn't change, 5 of us quit within days of each other. And I hear that since then another 2 have gotten fired after getting into it with "the pet."

Other than that job, I've had other jobs where conflicts with coworkers were making conditions unsafe. I took it to HR, where the coworker said that I was posessed by the devil, Jesus told her, and that's why she was not helping me. HR just smiled and said she was a good Christian and didn't do anything about this lady not doing her work. It was all my problem. I wish I had an audio tape that day, I'd probably be rich now. As is, it was my first job and I was so horrified that I scuttled out of there and quit without notice.

thank you for the kindness re: spelling. trek is legally blind (and has said so pubically on the threads , so i'm not talking out of school :)) she works very hard to get things right.

trek could use some good thoughts this week. :heartbeat

the work situation is getting very stressful and to say it's unpleasant would be a huge understatement....:down:

i've pmd to follow up, and am waiting to hear from her :o
