I am in california and I started with no experience on med-surg at $11.00 a hour and shift diff was $1.50 for night shift. After one year I got 50 cents more and made 11.50 after shift diff was $13.00 a hour.

I am at a ltc facility in PA, and make $10.60 per hour; we also have a shift differential of $1 for evening, and $0.50 for night, and $1 for weekends. Not bad, but not great either.

Here in NC, we must have the lowest paid CNA's in the country. Most of the places around here range from $7.25 (minimum wage) to $8.00. There is one hospital nursing home that starts at $9.67 but you get treated like trash working there.

I'm in Northern New Jersey. I started out with no experience at 9.80 in assisted living. It's the same no matter what shift I work.
