  1. Totally agreed tell the dietitian to shut it lol :)
  2. Appreciation by family and patients is always appreciated by nurses. We become a part of your lives in a very deep and profound way. I've had someone in public recognize and thank me for taking care of her from over a year before. It really meant a lot to me. May God bless you and your family and may I offer my condolences for your loss.
  3. Sweet good job! Thanks :) I'm getting put on the schedule for days next month yay! finally lol
  4. So is this for your care plan? or nursing diagnosis?
  5. A private hospital in California. I had a friend who applied there but did not want to work nights, I asked her to shoot my resume over there. My soon to be boss then called me around Dec 25th (my cert date was like Dec 12th) and she loved my resume and asked me to come in for an interview! I was nervous but I interview VERY well. She offered the job on the spot and I accepted My new job (I just got) was a lot harder to get into because I am now part of the county. but I used to make 10.77 then 11.89 after my raise.. and now I make 13.42 starting.
  6. My instructor does this kind of stuff too... She has kind of a sick sense of humor but its all good. Don't get upset.. just let it roll off your shoulders and focus on your studies...
  7. Wow I didnt know that lol. but then again I went straight into acute care after my CNA.. :\
  8. Don't need the number, they will get it later. Just put when you acquired it and the exp month/year. (similar to BLS)
  9. I did some major and minor editing. You can always tweak your resume and change things around. I didn't make my changed clear so just compare to your current one =) If you have questions let me know! :)
  10. I totally agree, however, a bad employment history and a sloppy resume will get no responses from potential employers That was kind of my point here. hehe
  11. Maybe there is something on your resume / work history that employers aren't responding to. Have you tried taking your resume to a career services center or something? When was the last time you updated your resume? Is it 1 or more pages? how is your information distributed? Do you appear at the job site professionally dressed? Gaps in your work history? explained why? Are you looking for work in your area only? or different cities? Is your social network account open for all to see? Everything is relevant when looking for a job..
  12. We paired up with a classmate. Weren't allowed to coach the other and the instructors watch closely. The exam instructor gave us a scenario and told us to do a skill. Yes you are allowed 2 retakes before they make you take the class over again. (here in California anyway)
  13. As a CNA there is no need for one. You might need one for school to learn manual blood pressure. You can buy them pretty cheap (20 bucks). You don't need an expensive one :)
  14. You will NEED CPR(BLS) for clinical as a student NA. Most schools offer a CPR (BLS) class or will tell you how to get one in the area. And honestly I have no idea what CPI is. Hope this helps! good luck!
