CNA's what state are you in and what salary? thanks

I live in north dakota and make a base pay of 11.46 but work evenings which is a dollar extra plus I get called in to work for someone you make another dollar extra so I could be making 13.46/hr this memorial day I was making 20.00/hr

I started the job with $12.35/hr on med/surg floor with only 6 months experience from a nursing home in Virginia. I work 12hr/night shift, full time. Still not enough to pay the rent and bills. Living is costly here. Everything is so expensive plus gas price is $3.16/gallon. I'm working my way on continuing school to become RN.

Dream --> :nurse:

I get paid 9.20 with no differentials at a nursing home in Chicago

I will be getting $14.95 in Hawaii at a nursing home/hospital.

Specializes in Nursing Assistant.

Hired as a brand new CNA with no experience in Phoenix, Arizona....starting pay $11.75/hr with benefits.

Specializes in LTC, Memory loss, PDN.

I'm not a CNA, but I know the top base pay, including benefits, is $ 15.00/hr in LTC. CNAs can wave some of the benefits, but it's not a good deal as the pay increases $1/hr for $1.5 to $1.75/hr in lost benefits. This is in the NE OK area.

Maryland here! When I got my CNA license I got a job at an assisted living facility making $11/hr. Now I'm working in a LTC facility making $13/hr..they're unionized so if I join it I will get a 2% raise twice a yr,plus shift differentials,etc... The PRN ppl make $15/hr

Which LTC do you work? I'll be looking around this summer and I really need to make AT LEAST $12. Do you think that is too high and do you think that I'd be able to start at an LTC?

Specializes in LTC, ACUTE.

Two years back when I was hired brand new no exp/ I made 10.hr in Southern California with about a promise of a dollar raise for every year of exp. That was working in LTC. The only thing unfortunate was there was no change in wage if you worked evening or night shift although I heard a few other nurses mention that if you worked private ltc you made more, etc etc. Just stating what I know for a fact.

Specializes in Med-Surg/urology.

I don't work @ that facility anymore & wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to work @ that place haha. The facility was in Anne Arundel County though. It really depends, some LTC's that I went to when I first got my GNA certification would not hire me b/c I did not have experience. I've been a GNA for almost two years now though, and its really easy to find a job now..but starting out, it is sort of hard. What county do you live in? I could recommend some facilities to you.

Specializes in CNA in Oncology.

When I was in the nursing home I started out at $9.50 When I got a job at a hospital they started me out at $11.50 plus shift differentials. Now I am registry at the same hospital and I make $14.60 plus shift diffferentials. I work in Evergreen Park, IL a south suburb of Chicago

Specializes in Public Health.

Im in Las Vegas, NV and I work at a LTC CCNF I am PRN although I always make overtime. I get $12/hr the first 8 hrs and $18/hr the last four plus any over time as well.

I'm in Phoenix. I work at a LTC, base pay is 10.50. Shift differentials 2-3 dollars more. Weekends another 3 dollars. So I make between 13.00-16.00 dollars per hour. With no experience.
