Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

Had an IA bring a kiddo up for a "bad rash" on his neck, and sides of cheeks. One look and I could tell it was from something. Handy Dandy wipe took the "rash" right away. I asked him what it was and he said face paint.

The IA laughed and did feel pretty silly, but thanked me and told me I was awesome.

Hey, I'll wipe faces all day if it means that makes me awesome.

Student "I have this rough are on my hand from lifting weights"

Me "It's called a callous, you won't die, I promise." :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Come on now.

I asked for 4 hours tomorrow to catch up on paperwork. Far's Mom and Dad are both sick and I've been running ragged. But no, I had to go to a useless all day seminar on opiates, where the presenter droned us all to sleep. Now parents are mad about their kids not being cleared today.

Professional Development Day, indeed!

Sometimes opiates inflict less harm than seminars...

I don't have other special pant-wetness-checking tools!

So today is was a kid who rubbed an ENTIRE glue stick in his hair.

He says "but you can wash my hair"

Sorry the parents are sick. :(

And I feel like we should have the option of choosing between PD and a day in the office. We have a mandatory number of CEU hours we need, so people would still attend, but it would give some a chance to just catch up.

It is working now!! During Christmas music season I listen to Pandora that way I can shuffle Christmas music and worship music. Somehow, my computer knows when it is the morning. In the mornings if I try to login to Pandora it will say that my password is incorrect, when I try to send a reset to my email it never shows up. But alas, once it hits 1200, the same password magically works. ????

KLOVE has a Christmas channel with all Christmas music all the time.

Say what?!?! Is it on the website?

It is on their app. I don't have KLOVE in my area since we have a large market station here, so I downloaded the app after seeing you bring it up.

Had a student walk in and tell me that she "broke her finger" I assessed and let her know what I was checking for. No redness, swelling, bruising or disfigurement of any kind. Full ROM. Good grasp. She was unable to describe the accident that had broke said finger to me. After she said, " I still think I need to go home" I gave her the magic ice pack, sent her to class with instruction to come back and see me immediately if anything changes. 20 minutes later, she walks in with a funky yellow discoloration of the "affected" area. She said, "see now its bruised" I replied, " oh my that looks pretty serious, let me put some of this on it." I grabbed a bottle of H202 and a cotton ball. I proceeded to wipe the "broken finger" Amazing the bruise wiped right off! I held the cotton ball up and asked, " Want to tell me anything?" She just shook her head and walked out of my office. Another miraculous recovery!!!

**C'mon now and Cuteness alert** Yesterday I had a second grader come in for a "temp check". Temp 98.7. I asked him if his throat hurt, "no". Does your belly hurt, "no". Do you feel bad today or did the teacher send you just for a temp check? He replied, "No I feel fine. I just feel all tingly. It's my birthday today and I think it's because I feel older." :) I would love to know what he said to his teacher for her to let him come see me. c'mon now- why did that even visit even happen??

Also, this week I had a teacher bring me a student who has been in a long arm cast for the last two weeks. A teacher WALKS HER IN and starts showing me her hand. I thought he was concerned with the cast cutting into her skin or cutting off her circulation but he said, "it looks like her hand needs to be washed". :banghead: By the way ALL of our classrooms have sinks. I walked her to my sink and a crazy thing happened- she washed her hands. I am so glad my bachelor's degree is being put to good work...........C'MON NOW!
