Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

With this family, it's more like "here baby, take this new toy so I don't have to be a responsible parent and can use my recreational chemicals all day and all night"

CPS is aware of this family, many many calls on behalf of the children.

:bag: Actually, I wrote something like this . . . but deleted it for fear of appearing too judgmental.

Thanks for being a bit braver than me this morning though! :inlove:

Teacher has 8 week old baby. Asks for my opinion about a concern that she is having. Indicates she has had some concerns with the babies breathing, had told the dr. Who, told her it was nothing to worry about. Admitted to me that she had given the baby breathing treatments because her friend suggested it. :woot: Huhhhhh??? I think I about fell out of my chair. I tried to not overreact...but, highly suggested that she calls the dr TODAY. C'MON NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More importantly, why is the iPad in the child's room so he can stay up with it? Unsupervised?

My point as well. Lots of inappropriate shows, just on Netflix.

My daughter watches Netflix on the iPad all the time. I know she is only watching My Little Pony. But it leaves her room at bedtime (8:15).

No, she knows. They all know that phones (or iPods in my 8 year olds' cases) do NOT stay in rooms overnight. Bedtime means sleep.

No. It is fine.

Supervising what your kids watch (My Little Pony) is fine. I let the 3 year old watch Mickey Mouse on my computer at times while he was here during the last 5 days.

But I think some parents are using technology so they don't have to parent. And I'd never go to sleep knowing my kid had Netflix on in his room.

My 14 year old still has to go to bed before me or at the same time as me. And the absolute limit for him is 11 p.m. My goal is 10 p.m. He's a reader though so that's good.

I will admit to being so happy to have some time to myself while all three of my kids play on their devices! There are also days when I say "Let's put away electronics for a bit" which includes me- and it's probably just as hard on me as it is on them

c'mon now indeed :( i have a family like that in my district - Sixth grader with DM, older sister with DM and last year Mom came to my office in a panic taking identical twin sister if the sixth grader out for further testing as she had been seeing some symptoms at home, but i guess everything tested normal at that time. Hoping everything stays normal for her sake. I can't imagine having 3/4 children diabetic.
