Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.
C'mon now!
Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.
C'mon now!
The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.
All together: C'mon now!!
Some things just make me shake my head.

I just tell my husband I am allergic to exercise.
I am on the small side, so people think I am in shape. WRONG. You'd think I smoked a pack a day with the way I breathe after walking a flight of stairs (never smoked a day in muh life).

Stairs are the devil. I am a runner but I hate any sort of incline.

I'm kinda proud to say, me either! Especially since I grew up in a family/extended family who all smoked.

We have stairs in our house that I have to use daily and I force myself to go up the football bleacher steps when I do run/walk the track. There is a road I walked on Sunday to a local powerhouse - all downhill on the way in, uphill on the way back. Spidey and I walked it - he whined a tiny bit but I reminded him that if his old mom can do it, so can he . . . and wait until football season and "Hell Hill". The only half-marathon I did 1.5 years ago was at a slight decline, on purpose. Made it easier for we neophytes.

Field trip with 8th graders!! I see she's online right now though . . .

Back when I was subbing I had to run from the school to the field house for a kid that collapsed. Why they need a field house so dang far from the school is beyond me.
By the time I got there I was so dizzy, heartbeat in my eardrums, hands and feet tingling. I had to take a breather before I could even feel the kids pulse. (Which he had, thank goodness). A nice sternal rub and he was good to go. But I got my workout that day.
I now remember the field trip and Far singing "Pour Some Sugar On Me", or something like that.

Where was that 1/2? I'd love a race that's down hill! Most of the races I do are in downtown Chicago so it isn't terribly hilly, but there are some! I was training for a 1/2 last summer when I was visiting my aunt in North Carolina and I was dying on the hills and getting up at 6 to run before the temp got to triple digits. The humidity was so high that it still looked like I took dip in the lake by the time I got back :***:

Susanville, CA ....Treelined, nice weather in October, a couple of old train tunnels, really nice "race".
Found the website - edited to add:
The photo on the main page shows a wooden bridge - I tripped at the end of that while looking up at a train tunnel (opposite direction of the photo) and went down hard and skinned my knees and hands.
12yo comes in with belly ache, no temp, no distention or tenderness, no n/v states he has pancreatitis. After assessment and I'm returning him to class he says " if you don't send me home right now I'll have a heart attack in 5 min." C'mon now!
I told him to come back in 5 after he's finished with his heart attack. He never returned! LOL
