Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

I want this in poster form

Thats awesome!

Latest one... K student rubbing stomach

K assistant:she says her belly hurts

Me: Well probably because yall just ate lunch and its digesting the food.

K assistant: Yeah she says she ate too much pizza

Me: Well thats probably it, no fever, heres a peppermint

K assistant: Yeah thats what I thought, she was fine 5 min ago.

Geeze people if she was fine 5 min ago then why bring her in here. Maybe she has a gas pain, maybe she needs the bathroom, maybe its indigestion. Maybe its just a random ache that everyone on the planet gets from time to time and we live thru the 5 seconds of pain and move on with our lives!

But no please, by all means lets teach these children that every whine and ache they get to leave their work and let someone baby them. "Eye roll!"

Rec'd a call from a very calm teacher, "LD says she is choking." In the back ground I can hear her having this bark like cough. My first thought to run through my head is "if she's talking she's not choking", however knowing this teacher well, I decided to stroll over and see what was going on. LD was sitting in a chair and coughing with rapid breaths. There is a cup of water on the desk that the teacher had gotten her. I told her to take drink and come to my office. Well, when she stood up she was off balance so we had to stand in Lunch Detention for a few more minutes since she was hyperventilating. At this point the same teacher says "I gotta paper bag if you need one." Got to my office and she was fine. Throat a little sore, but all better. She is a known to do things for attention. Even her friends told the teacher later they thought she was playing it up. :banghead:

I can hear everything, for better or worse, that happens in my bathroom. Little guy who can no longer use the normal bathrooms comes in for his afternoon visit and I hear him using more and more and more and more toilet paper.

He comes out and tells me that I'm out and he couldn't wipe himself (he's a little salty about needed to come down and use my bathroom). I told him it sounded like he used all I had, and he turned all red and left.

C'mon now little guy.

School has been in for 30 minutes and I've already pulled two ticks off kids. Happy Friday 13th!

Kid comes down asking to check his BSG. He was low this AM (grandparent already told me) but apparently took that as an invite to have as many carbs as desired...285. Protocol says we have to check ketones over 250. "Is it reeeeaaally necessary?" he asks. Yes (maybe not really but it's on the orders and I do follow orders). I hand him the collection cup. He goes to the bathroom, does his business, flushes, washes, then comes out and says "I forgot." C'MON.

I made the mistake of telling one of my staff members this morning that I recommended her going home to get checked for pink eye.

I've checked 5 more teachers since then and we are on only hour 2 of school.

Kid: I was playing gymnastics with friends and a girl did a handstand. She kicked my arm into the BRICK wall and I think it's broken.

Me: *Inspects arm* Is your friend Chuck Norris?

Kid: *Looks at me like I am crazy and why on Earth would she have a friend named Chuck?* No?!

Me: Then it's not broke, here's an ice pack. Back to class.

Hahahaha SAME!! I giggled yesterday at a kiddo's reaction when they came in saying "my eye hurts" and then just stared at me. When I told them "I don't know what that means"....you would have thought I grew two extra heads! It was even better when he repeated it S-L-O-W-L-Y just to make sure I heard the exact words and then just gawked at me like "Uh, aren't you supposed to know things about the body and stuff?".... ;)
