CMA need same pay as RN

Nursing Students CNA/MA

i am the only CMA where i work. there are about 8-9 nurses. For some reason, all of them think they are better than me just because they are nurses. in fact, i do most of their job. They get paid 30-40hr while i do most of their work for less than half that. I asked for more money, but my reply was "the nurses have to use their brain more" Then i started thinking of going back to get my RN degree. The minute i said something, all the other nurses "all of a sudden" wanted to go back to school. This made me think that they are trying to compete with me and not be equal to me. Most of them are lazy and really dont respect me. Whenever i have a problem with one of them, the NCM does not have my back. But believe me, she has theirs. I do know that there are other reasons why they do that i dont wish to get into. So i have decided not to express any interested of going back to school-at least to them. I have decided to be an ultrasound tech.

Anyway, I just think just because nurses give meds and CMA dont, we should get the same pay. I know that many people would disagree but thats my opinon

Opinions are like a** holes everyone has one. But I still think that if you were actually a nurse you would understand where these nurses are coming from. I was never paid close to what I was worth when I was a CMA; not by a long shot. And speaking as a CMA myself and future RN, honestly, the only people who will probably share your opinion is other misinformed MAs...but YES, most MAs are not paid enough, but NO they should not be paid the same as nurses. I realize no one on here is going to change your opinion however, but I think I can speak for 99% of the people on this board that we stand by ours as well...nurses and MAs should not be paid the same.

I deserve a hot fudge sundae served on top of Kristen Kreuk's tummy, all upon a bed made of money, but you don't see me whining.

Does that mean I deserve one served from Richard Gere's tummy? Oh no... probably too hairy and then my poor h.f. sundae would have hairs in it... E-Yuck!:eek::eek::eek:

i do deserve it

As my old high school debate team coach used to say, "I want you to use logical reason backed up with applied research and then you can try to persuade me."

Where is your research? Where are your substantiated facts? All we've heard thus far from you is adolescent-like "Because I WANT it!"

As Clara in the old Wendy's ad used to ask, "Where's the beef?"

I can say that you are not content with your career choice...... and you are not going to fill that gap by becoming an ultrasound tech. Because when you become an ultrasound tech then you are going to feel like you deserve to get pay just like a MRI TECH.

Or in her case, the radiologist. She deserves it!!!!!

Unless you have an RN or LPN lisence, you don't deserve the pay that a nuse deserves. Why give someone the pay that is not legally held to the same standards and responsibilities?

Ok - after seven pages I doubt we will change this poster's opinion so we might as well give it a rest....time out!
