Do you wear certain scrubs on certain days?

Specializes in kids.
Of course you're Cool, Farawyn. Duh! Like, everybody knows that!

You know, Sissybee was the first Nurse I ever knew who wore black scrubs.

HEY! Maybe you two should get together and make some big blockbuster comedy sci-fi movie!

Lessee- what could you call it?

I want in on that!!!

Specializes in kids.
What I wear depends entirely on how daring I am. I have a bit of a drinking problem. Every thine I drink coffee I spill some down my front. So, I avoid white unless I am VERY DARING or won't be drinking coffee that day. Which is almost never. So typically, I wear black. On my VERY DARING days, i will wear a white scrub top and black pants. I never wear white pants or white shoes. It's after labor day, after all!

A million years ago when I did home health, I started using a straw for my coffee. The frost heaves here in the Northeast will kill you!!!

To this day, I still use a straw and I don't wear my coffee!

We wear purple on Wednesdays-union color

Red on Fridays- I still haven't figured out why.

Red is often worn by the fire departments to support the Armed Services

Specializes in Geriatrics, Dialysis.
Navy blue, as far as the eye can see...although I am particular enough that I have to match tops with bottoms bought from the same company, in the same fabric. Undershirts are a toss-up. Whatever long-sleeved shirt is on the top of the pile.

Days off are easy. Swap the scrub pants for jeans, the scrub top for a long cardigan/sweatshirt/jacket, and I'm good to go.

...Nony doesn't have a life. :sorry:

I know, right? I just can't take it when the colors for the top and bottom are a little off. Drives me absolutely bonkers!

OK, pass the news. Green is the color of the day. Good thing I'm not working as I don't have green scrubs anymore. Years ago when I was a CNA we had to wear emerald green scrubs...I swore when I became a nurse to never wear that color again, and I still haven't.

Still in navy?

Sometimes there might be black, grey, or white. But yes, the basics have all seemed to trend towards navy.

Not thinking about the day when I end up someplace that the nurses wear something other than navy.

Nursing school. Hunter green. I kept the scrub pants for pajamas when I graduated and never wore green as a nurse again. Which is a shame because it's a nice color. When I see someone in green scrubs my first thought is they're a student nurse.

Some memories can't be repressed.

Hunter green, emerald green... Any green. My favorite color.

Then pink.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I wear whatever is clean and within reach. Occasionally I'll wear the sports team scrubs if the team is playing that night.

Specializes in Critical care.
I wish I was allowed to use fun scrubs! We are provided with scrubs (dresses or tunics). That way in Sweden, we all look the same :D in the summer I spice it up with wearing a dress and rainbow knee socks!

How do you like the dresses and tunics? Sounds awful to me (I'd always be cold in a dress), but if you're used to it I'm thinking it might not be that bad? I like not having to worry about my rear being exposed with my scrubs if I'm bending/crouching down.
