Clackamas Program 2008: Points & GPA

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

just like everyone else, i am curious on the competition for this year's applicant pool!

so if you are an applicant and so inclined to share please list:

prerequisite application gpa & points as per the clackamas community college point system.

since i started this thread it's logical for me to begin with my gpa & points:

3.91 gpa

54.84 pts

good luck everyone!

Anyone get their letters yet? I've become best friends with the mail carrier waiting for her every day....

I got my letter today. Whatever the points cut off is, it was more than 48 b/c I didn't get an interview.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I got mine today, it didn't give the cut off for points, but I had 49 and no interview

Ya, got my letter too... I didn't get an interview with 49.6 pts. Third year in a row of waiting...what the hell's another year... This is frustrating !!! :banghead:

Congrats to all that are going on with the interviews and hopefully you all get accepted.

Specializes in ICU.
I just got my points review letter, so they must have gone out on friday. Does clackamas frequently get the amount of people points wrong? It seems they must if they have to institute a points review. Has anybody else got their letter yet, and if so, are your points correct?

Did you get in DHBCNA?

I've done my interviews for Mount Hood CC and Clackamas CC and am just waiting for responses. I'm waiting for OHSU too, but I really don't want to go there. I should know within the week. Ironically, my interview for clackamas had me with 3 other guys and just one girl. It seems MANY men are applying to clackamas, whereas my interview for MHCC had 7 girls and 1 guy (me). I hope if I get into clackamas they have a large group of guys. Sorry, your question! I'll post again when I know! Good'A

Darkhairedboy,

I think your interview at CCC was right before mine, because the secretary made a comment that we had no boys in our group and the last group had four. Good luck getting in. How do you think you did?

Does anyone know what the point cutoff was for CCC yet? A couple of people in my interview group had 56 points. I have 61. It would be nice to know the spread. I have a feeling it is pretty darn tight this year. Yikes!!!

I have 51.12 points and I had an interview. My friend had 49.60 points and she didn't have an interview, so I'm saying the cut off was like 50.

I guess I'm on the bottom of the barrel this year; not very reassuring.

Hey care_baer

Remember that the cc's here tend to use quite a few of their alternates as many applicants accept spots elsewhere.

It's imperative that you be ready for a phone call and to have all of your immunity shots already finished.

Also, I felt a little frazzled during the essay portion, so I'm not sure I did such a spectacular job on that. So....you may have that up on me. I'm sure that was the case with many people.

Keep the faith!

Did you apply anywhere else?

"Darkhairedboy,

Hey care_baer, yeah it sounds like my group :) I think I did alright, Mt. hood kinda warmed me up to this whole process. Mt. hood interview was a little easier though because we had an hour to answer 5 questions and then got to tell our answers to two of the same questions. Clackamas made it very equal in the fact that nobody knew what to expect. This would give somebody who interviews well a chance to make up for a loss in preliminary points. Good luck!

dhbcna is right. If you interview well, that could make up for a lot of points. I know that I was feeling a little stiff that day. Very worried about that!!! I don't know what happened. I think that it was just a year in the making (hoping to get an interview) and I got really nervous.

It is true that MHCC's interview process was not as intensive. I think I did well in that one. I think:confused:!!!
