Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Pacesetter BSN Spring 2025

Published

Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

Hi everyone, good morning,

question. Have you all applied thru NCAS and applyUTH? I just found out that I need to put my application through NCAS also. But it does not give my the option of Pacesetter Spring 2025, although I can see Spring 2026. Not sure what to do? What about you guys?

You don't do ncas for pacesetter. I think there are other programs at the school that takes but not this one.

Hi everyone - I also submitted my application yesterday and the status is under review. I shared my TEAS and trasncipts as well but I think they're still pending. I wish everyone the best! 🙂

TEAS: 92

Science GPA: 3.58

Overall Pre Req: 3.93

Hello everyone, question.

The following are my stats: I got two Bs: both A&P lectures were B for me. Part of the reason was that during my senior year in high school, I was distracted by my other classes, which caused my science GPA to tank. I have no plans as of now to repeat A&P to better my grades. Instead, I am thinking of repeating my TEAS. What do you all think? Thank you for your input. For Cizik admissions, what takes weightage? GPA or TEAS?

Hi everyone!

Is there a way on ApplyUTH to confirm whether or not the school has received our HESI and/or TEAS scores? I took my HESI on 8/9 and I want to make sure that admissions has received it. TIA 🙂

When I applied to UTHSC, the ApplyUTH showed two missing items; my transcript and TEAS/HESI score. As they received them, it was updated. Now I have 0 in ' to do' items. That way, I know that they received it.

I called admissions and asked about how they select applicants and the person on the phone told me that there is a point-based system. Essentially the highest grades and TEAS scores are the only criteria they use to select applicants and offer acceptances. I think your stats are great and you have a good shot, and I definitely don't believe that 3.7-3.6 GPA is low or "tanked" by any means. My GPAs are much lower LOL

I also heard about them using a point system. I am in no way saying my GPAs are bad. But knowing this is a very competitive school, I am trying to get a better chance at admissions. I heard people with lower GPAs repeating class, which I am not a fan of. I won't survive A&P another semester. I can give another shot at TEAS though.

Hello!

I applied for Spring 25. Here are my stats.

Science GPA 3.64

Overall GPA 3.84

HESI 89

I really hope I get in but I think it'll end up coming down to my HESI.

Has anyone heard back from UTHSC so far? Any acceptances in this group?
