Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Pacesetter BSN Spring 2025

Published

Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

I just started a new thread for those applying to Summer 25. Im sorry for everyone who didn't get in, God saying it's not our time YET. Don't give up, we need more nurses in the field. Congratulations to everyone who got in! Keep going! You're going to do great things! ❤️

So sorry to hear about yalls denials! Was definitely looking forward to meeting you all. Don't give up! I got accepted on a second application. You all will still be good nurses!

Me too! I am sorry to hear about your denials. I know it is very hard especially when you are not looking at other schools but this one. My acceptance: I still can't believe it! Although I had to decline it due to personal reasons, I am grateful for it. This is my first time applying. I believe the number of credits you apply with plays a big role although they say 48 hours minimum to apply. I had 64 college credits when I applied. My GPA for future students references cum 3.67, science: 3.63, TEAS 91.3. Another thing I noted during this application process is that they don't care about your clinical experiences, work history, etc. When I attended a Cizik tour, they re-iterated it specifically. He said they simply have no time to look at all those due to the number of applications they receive. He said for Spring 2025, they received about 750 applications and sent out about 140 acceptances.

I applied to TWU, UTMB, and UTHSC: and got all 3 acceptances; chose UTMB.

I would advise being open to multiple schools; so you will have a choice at the end of the day. I did that because I did not want to lose a semester. I admit it was not cheap to apply to multiple schools.

I wish you all good luck! A Cizik denial is not the end of it! You all will do great. Keep pressing forward!
