Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Pacesetter BSN Spring 2025

Published

Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

@This Thing I also reached the minimum requirements and still got denied (2x!) 😭 the only thing I could think of doing is improving my GPA a bit so I'm going to retake a class.

Oh noo 😞 I hope u get in this round! I think I'm going to be applying to multiple schools this time too

Also, this is a super random question, but did y'all submit like all your transcripts even if they don't fulfill certain prereqs? I'm in a weird situation actually, since I withdrew from PA school because I learned it wasn't what I wanted to do career wise and found nursing a better fit instead. IDK if I'm supposed to submit that transcript from pa school since it's all just W's?

A random question here. So for Spring 2025, the application deadline is Sept 1, 2024. I will be completing my pre reqs on Aug 11th. Will I still have time to send my transcripts, do HESI, and apply?

If not Cizik, what is the plan B for you guys? How is HCU or TWU for BSN? I know they are pretty expensive.

What is the average GPA and HESI score for those get admitted?

When I went to their info session about a month ago they said it was 3.5, I don't remember anything about an average HESI score tho

In the site it said 85 or higher and each section. Just aim higher. Bc the TEAS said 60% or higher and they want the highest from my observations

I did, even my CE transcript. I would double check since most schools say "all colleges attended".

Just applied for the Spring today! Good luck everyone.

What's a CE transcript? And OK then I'll probs be submitting that transcript too then!! Good luck :,) let us know if there's any updates, I'm gonna apply once I get my final grades for the rest of the prereqs

Continuing education. I took some vocational classes years ago (phlebotomy/CNA) with HCC.

Hi! I am planning to apply for Spring 2025. How does one stand out in this program other than GPA? Do they conduct interviews?

@roxyrox11

That's a great question, I'm wondering the same thing too. I don't think they conduct interviews. I guess besides GPA, the only other thing would be employment history and HESI or TEAS scores

Probably University of Houston 2nd degree BSN. I already have a bachelor's degree so I am looking for a program where I can get my BSN in 12-15 months.
