Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Pacesetter BSN Spring 2025

Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

 

Has anyone gotten into this program with a TEAS score that is below the very advanced category?

Not sure. My score was advanced but my app was denied and my GPA is well over 3.8. Most with the TEAS seem to be exemplary.

Oh wow 😞I didn't realize the TEAS test held so much weight in the application. I have around 2400+ patient care experience hours and I've worked as a CNA so im just hoping that counts for something 😭

I did submit for Spring 2025. My transcript and HESI is due. It says the deadline is Sept 1st. But I thought it is now Sept 15.

If not Cizik, what is the plan B for you guys? How is HCU or TWU for BSN? I know they are pretty expensive.

I am doing the same plan. I will finish my classes Aug 11th and I am applying. I just took my HESI last week.

I just submitted my application today and I'm going to send over my transcripts once I get my confirmation email 🙂

My nursing GPA is 3.86, science GPA 3.5, and undergrad GPA 3.66

I had a rough freshman year which is why my GPA took a hit 🥲 but hopefully things go well this application cycle!!

I submitted my application last week. UTHSC has also received my transcript. The only thing pending is my TEAS, which will be completed tomorrow.

My nursing pre-req GPA is 3.7

Science GPA: 3.7

Cumulative GPA 3.6

My application status says 'Application received'.

I hope I get in for Spring 2025. Fingers crossed.

Did you use the Parchment to send your transcripts ? 

My overall GPA is 3.977

Science GPA is 4.0

HESI overall 91.63 with AP 96, CHEM 96, BIOL 96, MATH 98, READING 88, VOCAB 86, and GRAMM 78. I am very worried about my grammar score. I hope I can get in this time, I don't wanna wait more 4 months.

Those are awesome stats. You will for sure get in. Yes, I sent it through parchment. They received it in 2 days.
