Christ nursing waiting list --HELP

Hey everybody. I applied to The Christ College of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH and I just got my letter today saying that I am on the wait list. I'm so so disappointed, I thought for sure I would get in. I have great grades, I had a recommendation and I am even currently enrolled there as a non-degree student. The letter said that they had a huge amount of qualified students this year and don't have enough faculty to accept all. Does anybody have any experience with this? How long is their waiting list? What are my odds of being admitted now? Any comments of encouragement would greatly help me. Thank you guys.

P.S. Anybodies experience with being wait listed would greatly help---even if different school ;-)

The waiting list at my school is about a year long. Here, it has to do with there being more students than teachers and not grades. (I have a 4.0) It stinks but I'm trying to stay positive about it. I'm going to take the extra year as an opportunity to finish up all of my non-nursing classes so I can focus 100% of my attention on NS once I start. Also, once you start it pretty much consumes your life (or so I hear! :D) So I'm going to relax, take a trip or two, and prepare myself. Remember, being accepted AT ALL is a HUGE accomplishment!!!!! Chin up! The time will pass by faster than you think. Congrats again on being accepted! :ancong!:

I found online that the school I want to go to has a 2 year waiting list.

I figure I will work on my RN pre-reqs...(the above is an LPN school)...and then try to apply at the other school that is an RN program while I am waiting for the LPN...and see where I get in first. (the LPN school is first come first serve basis, the RN school is selective process).

It's okay, don't be discouraged it could be worse. I received my contract to be on a waitlist for Yuba college here in Cali and was number 567 (or somewhere around that #). An estimated 3-4 year wait to get in. Nothing I can do but push forward and apply to every school around my area. Don't give up! :)

I'm so sorry to hear you weren't accepted this term. I also sitting in your boat right next to ya! I'm attending a 4 year college now, and never applied anywhere else nor choose a plan B! And, of course, my school also had 300+ applicants for 75 seats. I'm honestly not sure how waiting lists work, but just wanted to offer my support and sympathy as I so understand what your feeling!

thank u very much guys for the encouragement. I am very grateful to be on the waiting list. However, their waiting list is only for this coming august. If I dont get in by then then I have to apply again for aug 2010 (they only admit once a yr in aug). THATS the part that sucks

when i went to the talk and tour on november they kept telling us over and over there was not a waiting list it was either you in or you not. so many showed up to the session though and the lady at the front desk said they had over 500 applicants. do you remember them saying it was a waiting list and what does that mean exactly?

i also applied to the christ college of nursing and was granted admission to get in and start in august they are asking for 350 dollars by april 15th or they will give my spot to another qualified applicant they said...i was afraid i was not going to get in the first try but thank god he gave me a chance .:saint:

well congrats grechi2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im happy 4 ya!

I called actually today and talked to Brad Jackson and he said that he thinks I have a pretty Good chance of getting in still. I guess im close to the top pool of applicants on the "waiting list" but he couldnt disclose my exact number. Yeah, from what he also said, they do NOT technically have a normal waiting list. They just have "back- up" applicants in case one of the people with a sure seat in august decide not to come for whatever reason. The list does not carry into the next semester so anyone on the list who doesnt get in aug will have to reapply for next yr all over a again. lets pray i get in!!!! if so...we will be classmates ;-)

i will pray for you i hope you get in because i know you worked super hard and obviously they can see that i heard they dont have financial aid and they will be sending out financial assistance packets this week so depending on what its offered i am sure some students wont be able to go because its pretty pricy they dont have a fafsa code either i am kinda anxious to know what how i am going to pay for it because i dont have no other way to pay for college except for loans or grants so i am hoping i can get a scholarship. back to you, i know a couple people who got into good sam and christ and they are torn between schools, so maybe one of them will decide good sam and a spot will be open. i am sure you will know soon since we have to pay $350 by april 15th and if they dont receive they money by then they will take it as you dont want to attend the school and give the spot to someone else.
