Hey everybody. I applied to The Christ College of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH and I just got my letter today saying that I am on the wait list. I'm so so disappointed, I thought for sure I would get in. I have great grades, I had a recommendation and I am even currently enrolled there as a non-degree student. The letter said that they had a huge amount of qualified students this year and don't have enough faculty to accept all. Does anybody have any experience with this? How long is their waiting list? What are my odds of being admitted now? Any comments of encouragement would greatly help me. Thank you guys.
P.S. Anybodies experience with being wait listed would greatly help---even if different school ;-)
ok so i need some advice. bc of the financial aid situation, i been thinking about deferring my admissions and start
august of 2010. i am still at uc and i get enough grants to cover my whole tuition. i get i can take classes at uc
next year like a and p 1, 2, 3 and gen chem 1, 2,3 and another one to become full time for my financial aid. i am
very bummed christ wont have til after the fall and sara walton told me is not even guaranteed by then. she said
the loan will only be applied for tuition so i will have to find money for books and supplies and if the money does not
come for spring i will have to do the same thing. i am just so confused right now i dont want to lose on this
opportunity i can try to take those classes and apply to uc's bsn program next may as well if i get good grades on it
but i was really excited about christ. the worst thing that can happen is that i dont get into any of them or the aid
wont be implemented at christ by the fall. i just dont think i can afford it right now. i know by the 2010 fall qtr
they will have aid for sure any advice.
hey greechi2009,
To be honest I have no idea what to advice. You know your financial situation better than anyone. Personally, i would try to do what I could to still attend Christ. But if you have a good back up plan that will give u the same outcome (UC) then maybe it would be better to do that. But, i agree that them not having aid yet sucks. I dont think i can afford more student loans myself...but whereever i go i will probably still need some..
but good luck with your decision process and try not to stress yourself out
oh i am still in their pre nursing program i need to take a and p 1, 2 and 3 and chem 2, 3 i am already taking chem 104 this quarter. i guess i am just scared i wont get accepted in the program and i already got in at christ i was planning to do the rn to bsn program after gettin the adn from christ. :zzzzz
i talked to fred at christ college he said i can defer my entry to august of 2010 if i pay the 350 by next week and that will save my spot so in the main next coming school year i will stay at uc and take a and p 1-3, and gob 2 and 3 and i ma apply to their program if i dont get in then i will go to christ they should def have financial aid by then i might also c about good sam.
hey grech!
sorry u cannot attend this year. I talked to brad jackson and he informed me that thet havent even STARTED calling people off the list yet. I was totally freaking out because I had not recieved a call yet. He said they will start may 15. In the mean time I am going to apply to Galen. I just really wanna start this year. i have taken every gen ed course already so i cant reallytake classes while i wait.

:zzzzz yea the lady at the financial aid dept said she has no idea when they will be getting their fafsa code so they can implement the financial aid but she said it should be soon. she said students can use the cincinnati state fasfa code so that when they do have financial aid all they have to do is transfer the information over. she told me not not send the 350 matriculation fee until after i get the financial aid packet and see my options. the other lady told me that i should reapply next year if i dont have the 350 dollars by the 15th of april.
i am very anxious to see how am going to be able to pay because she said the first semester is the most expensive one. she said the financial aid packets do not cover books, uniforms or other expensives and students would need at least 1,000 dollars just for the first semester alone!!! hopefully the packets will come by the 10 th of april so i have time to decide and still be able to make the payment on time.
