Is there already a thread for those of us taking Chemistry this fall? I know I could definitely use one!
My class starts the 31st.
I am in my second week of chem class. So far, I really like the professor. However 25% of our grade is online homework. It supposedly corresponds to the problems in the book. It does, sort of. The online homework will take the same question and change one of the amounts like from 5.0 mL to 5.20 mL, so if you did the problem in the book, you have the same process, but a different answer. I think it's a sucky, dirty trick:mad:. So my first online homework assignment was done twice basically. I did tell the professor about it, and he agreed with us (me and my fellow disgruntled classmates). We are the first class to deal with this online homework, so we are the test group. He did say he would forward our complaints to Pearson.
We have a seperate lab with it's own grade. We've covered metric conversions, density, specific gravity and are now moving into energy and heat. Good luck to all starting this week and next, let's keep checking in:).
Best, L.
got my syllabus yesterday, grades will be based on 5 exams (lowest can be dropped), cumulative final exam, lab, and homework. Each will be work about 14% of our grade, no curve. Only the final exam is multiple choice, rest are fill in your own answers and he's very adamant about showing ALL work.
anyone taking anatomy phisology with chem as well?
i am and so far so good (a+p touches on chem at first) but im scared that it will get tougher as it goes on.
im also taking eng101 online (starts oct 7 though) and Intro to Nutriotion!
my chem teacher seems cool. im joining my schools chem workshop for practice, my nursing program (That i HOPE to get in) wants at least B's in ALL Science classes!!
had my first chem class yesterday...it went really well, i like the teacher and she made it sound very do-able but now i'm sitting down in front of some practice sheets that she provides and i'm kind of nervous! it's mainly the algebra, i just took basic algebra in the spring and did fantastic but i forget how to do the stuff really quickly. I'm fine with scientific notations but the other stuff might hold me up at first. hopefully it starts to come back to me and fast! anybody else with me on the algebra part?

Yes I took Chemistry and AP2 together the summer semester that just passed. Actually AP2 was a lot easier than AP1 to me. Im not sure which AP class your taking. I did struggle with the Chemistry class a little bit but I pulled through it and passed. It just depends on how much time you have to invest in studying because they are both science courses and they can be time consuming when you start to study. Im sure you will be fine! Good Luck!
I took Chem 1 this summer and it was difficult. To me this class was mainly math. If you're not great at math, you will need to brush up on it ASAP!!Im taking Chem2 this Fall and its not as hard as Chem 1. There is no math for Chem 2 just memorization.
is your chem 3 Biochem or organic? and im taking ap1 right not. i have so many anatomy coloring books flashcards and everything else!
