Chemeketa 2017 RN entrance

Published

Anyone else applying for the 2017 entrance? I'm taking CHEM 110 and BIO231 this fall, and hoping to take BI 232, 233, PSY 201 and CIS 101 this winter before applying. I already have a bachelors degree which should cover the other pre-reqs. Do you basically have to have a perfect score to get in? Does anyone know more about it? Their information is so lacking!

Good luck on the interviews!!

I looked back at my old chemeketa emails from last year, the enrollment center does notify through email when they put up your nursing score. Last year we had the last test around the 13th and then 2 weeks(around april 27th) later we received the email about our nursing score. They gave us a week to look it over and to check for accuracy. Then after the week (may 2nd), two days later they sent the acceptance letters and all that. So i would think itll be very much thr same as last year for the timeline.

Thanks! It looks like it's going to be a stress filled month ahead waiting to find out the verdict:nailbiting:

From what I understood, the interview at Monmouth will have multiple people present, but we will most likely be rotating between faculty doing several one on ones.

Good luck on interviews today and tomorrow everyone. I hope I do well but I started getting a cold two days ago ....children are cesspools just waiting to share.. Hope I can perk up in the next few hours.

You poor thing!! Don't let it get you down, I'm sure you'll do great! Take a steamy shower and use some Afrin to temporarily clear your sinuses if you have any! Don't be a stranger if you see me, I'll be in a white specled tank, black coat, blonde hair, glasses :) won't say name on here for privacy but you'll know it's me ha

What are everyone's first choice schools? I only applied to OHSU and Chemeketa and honestly hope for Chemeketa. With my employer I get a $300 discount each term and a significant amount of tuition reimbursement. That on top of scholarships that sound pretty guaranteed for Chemeketa nursing students, my tuition will be bought and paid for. There are a few other benefits also, aside from starting work as a nurse earlier making 80K a year.

Although the drive to OHSU Monmouth would be extremely nice...all backroads and maybe 15 minutes tops.

I'm waiting to find out about both schools as well and I too am torn between the two!! OHSU is known for its excellence and getting accepted there would be amazing, but you're right, the financial pros make Chemeketa a tempting choice. Plus , I heard it has one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state. I don't know!!! I'll be grateful to God getting in to either one !

@maggiefrancis do you have A's/full points for all your classes with Chemeketa? Because with your score of 88 on the Kaplan and full points, I would say your looking pretty good there!

I only applied at chemeketa. But would be amazing to go to OHSU. Chemeketa is a great school but they do make it much harder. So many people fail out if chemeketas program. But im sure that its like that for every nursing school

Yeah I am sure that is every nursing school. I know a lot of nurses that have graduated from Chemeketa and many of the nursing programs in Oregon. I am sure a huge part of it is student dedication.

I don't think students fail out of chemeketa due to being more difficult, sounds like just the work that students put into it make them fail. I heard ohsu is technically more difficult then chemeketa lol too many mixed reports :p
