  1. Did you ever get your letter? I'm hoping no news from you is good news...
  2. I just do NOT understand why you didn't get in. (or your friend!). That's so dumb. Those are very similar to my stats, so maybe I should start looking somewhere else too. I just emailed them to ask basically, am I a competitive applicant or not. Let me know what they say about you--like, are you on the list for January, why you didn't get in, etc. Very interested to know because I definitely would have thought youd get in. I'm so sorry again though!
  3. I am SO sorry!! And I'm super surprised. That really sucks. Good luck with your other routes! Would you mind if I asked what your GPA and HESI score was? Honestly, I'm not sure I'll get in either so I'm just wondering what yours were so I don't waste ALL my time waiting around until October to hear back. I want to start looking at other options if we have similar stats. Sorry again, katg!
  4. Yay!!! Congrats!!! What did it say? I'm so happy for you!
  5. did the letter say how much each category would be weighted? I didn't get a letter since I just applied last week (for Jan), so I''m just wondering what it said.
  6. Please update when you get your letter!! I'm sure you'll get in.
  7. What the heck? How can they do that to people that have been waiting? I got an 89 on the HESI, an A in A&P, I only have a 2.9 cum GPA but I do have a bachelor's degree, I don't know if that counts for anything though. They didn't even take my act score (28) because I had a prior degree.... This is so frustrating!!!!
  8. Just sat down with an advisor. here's the scoop: starting jan 2018, they are switching to a point based admissions system. no idea what the points will be based on yet. no idea if people who have already applied will be grandfathered in, or if they will be subjected to the point system. letters will go out in october for the january start date. Really not a ton of information yet, but they've just decided to switch so nothing has been made clear yet.
  9. how are they still making decisions? Isn't it just the first 80 people that sign up?? That's so dumb!
  10. They just confirmed with me that they are starting a January start date!! So them have both January and fall. Not sure how this will affect this year's applicants.
  11. Will you post when you hear? :) I'm going in next week (the 28th) to sign up for next years wait list. She said I can see if anyone's GPA has dropped too low, or they aren't fulfilling whatever obligation, I could possibly get in for this fall.
  12. I saw nursing 104, 114, and 124 (which should be taken winter) were being offered this Fall.
  13. Do you know if you can start the program in January, or is it only Fall start? I was looking at classes and noticed that the second semester (which should be winter term), was actually offered Fall (only 24 seats though). Are those people that didn't pass, or is it possible they have more than one start date?
  14. I'm sure you'll do great :) I think that many people have dropped because honestly, it's not hard to get in. all you have to do basically is get a B in anatomy...so I don't think a lot of people are prepared for how rigorous nursing school is! I'm sure i'll be back asking you what you think of it when you start!! I'm jealous I wasn't on the ball and can't start this fall!! good luck!
