I just do NOT understand why you didn't get in. (or your friend!). That's so dumb. Those are very similar to my stats, so maybe I should start looking somewhere else too. I just emailed them to ask basically, am I a competitive applicant or not. Let me know what they say about you--like, are you on the list for January, why you didn't get in, etc. Very interested to know because I definitely would have thought youd get in. I'm so sorry again though!

I am SO sorry!! And I'm super surprised. That really sucks. Good luck with your other routes! Would you mind if I asked what your GPA and HESI score was? Honestly, I'm not sure I'll get in either so I'm just wondering what yours were so I don't waste ALL my time waiting around until October to hear back. I want to start looking at other options if we have similar stats. Sorry again, katg!

What the heck? How can they do that to people that have been waiting? I got an 89 on the HESI, an A in A&P, I only have a 2.9 cum GPA but I do have a bachelor's degree, I don't know if that counts for anything though. They didn't even take my act score (28) because I had a prior degree.... This is so frustrating!!!!

Just sat down with an advisor. here's the scoop: starting jan 2018, they are switching to a point based admissions system. no idea what the points will be based on yet. no idea if people who have already applied will be grandfathered in, or if they will be subjected to the point system. letters will go out in october for the january start date. Really not a ton of information yet, but they've just decided to switch so nothing has been made clear yet.

Do you know if you can start the program in January, or is it only Fall start? I was looking at classes and noticed that the second semester (which should be winter term), was actually offered Fall (only 24 seats though). Are those people that didn't pass, or is it possible they have more than one start date?

I'm sure you'll do great :) I think that many people have dropped because honestly, it's not hard to get in. all you have to do basically is get a B in anatomy...so I don't think a lot of people are prepared for how rigorous nursing school is! I'm sure i'll be back asking you what you think of it when you start!! I'm jealous I wasn't on the ball and can't start this fall!! good luck!

He likes it. He's in class about 20 hours a week, including 2 full days of clinicals. so, not that much class time, cause clinicals are like 8 hours each th/fr. he says hes surprised at how much work it is, since it's a CC and he already has a degree from a university he was expecting it to be easier. they started with like 70 people, and are down to like HALF of that. people keep failing out!

I actually still have to go in and meet with an advisor and take the HESI exam. Would you recommend studying? I'm in my 3rd anatomy class now, and already hold a bachelors degree. My brother is actually in the program now, finishing up his first year, and the application has already changed since he got in! Crazy! At least I know I'll be in for next fall. I'll let you know what they say about the wait list when I get in and ask..

Chemeketa 2017 RN entrance
Anyone else applying for the 2017 entrance? I'm taking CHEM 110 and BIO231 this fall, and hoping to take BI 232, 233, PSY 201 and CIS 101 this winter before applying. I already have a bachelors degree which should cover the other pre-reqs. Do you basically have to have a perfect score to get in? Does anyone know more about it? Their information is so lacking!
