Chemeketa 2017 RN entrance

U.S.A. Oregon

Anyone else applying for the 2017 entrance? I'm taking CHEM 110 and BIO231 this fall, and hoping to take BI 232, 233, PSY 201 and CIS 101 this winter before applying. I already have a bachelors degree which should cover the other pre-reqs. Do you basically have to have a perfect score to get in? Does anyone know more about it? Their information is so lacking!

Did they have a paper telling you about what each scores means for points? Is 89 still the lowest to get for full points??

Yes and yes it is

I take my test on the 7th...good job on your scores guys! I'm so nervous ahhh!

OHSU does their invites in rounds -- as primary candidates decline interviews other people will get invites.

OHSU looks at applicants in a very holistic manner -- grades and experience play a large role, but just as important is your community involvement and personal responses to their essay questions.

I found out that my email wasn't working. I actually did get a offer for monmouth interview yay! haha

I took it yesterday~ so glad to be done :) I scored 82%, which is hopefully high enough. Everything was manageable, some of the writing was annoying in that it felt a bit subjective (as others have said) I'd encourage you to look at the questions critically, and make sure the answer you select is specific to the question. For instance: one of the sentences they have you look at does have a problem with it, but not the problem you're supposed to be looking for. The science section. Ugg. Ridiculously specific things, that no matter how much you study you just might not come across. Hope you guys do well! I'll be interviewing at Monmouth on April 17th at 8am. Maybe I'll see some of you there :)

Good advice, thanks so much! How did you hear about your interview date/time? They lady i talked to at OHSU monmouth said that they wouldn't be sending out letters in the mail until after March 31st to tell us of our specific times? How did you get yous already?? haha

I got an email two days ago - but not a letter in the mail yet. :)

I can't believe how specific that science section was!! I work in an environment that relies highly on knowledge of physiology and reviewed hours and hours worth of Khan academy videos and still only got 75% on the science portion. I would have never come across some of that information, some of my answers came from using any science knowledge I had in combination with best guess.

That writing section was like a fifth grader wrote the essays and answer options. Received 76% on that.

Math - super easy - 100%

Reading - fairly easy 91%

I liked how they broke down how many times you went from correct to incorrect and vice versa. My score absolutely shocked me and I had to do a double take at it!

But its not over until the letters go out. OHSU Monmouth interviews coming right up!!!

Thanks for sharing your scores!! Sounds like for the science you either know or it or you don't and use best guess. I work in oncology as a medical assistant so i'm exposed to a lot of A&P and have watched numerous khann academy videos and went through my A&P book again...and to think there is only 20 questions after studying everything under the sun. So crazy lol

Just curious, did anyone apply to Portland Community College (PCC)?

I applied to Chemeketa, PCC and OHSU Monmouth

I only applied to Chemeketa and OHSU.

The science is is very much it's either you know it or you don't. I work in an emergency department, so I am exposed to a lot of information. I finished all my anatomy classes and micro all with 95% or higher. Best of luck to you!!

Does anyone know if/when the entrance exam is being moved to of the campus is closed today? I didn't get any information on it yet.

Idk. I got an email from chemeketa saying all campuses are closed. But nothing about post poning our test
