Checking in with Edukan A&P 1 students

Hi All,

I just wanted to see how everyone else was doing in A&P 1 this summer? I'm doing ok. I'm not sure about all of you, but her essay questions on the test sometimes throw me for a loop:uhoh3: Oh, well. I have a 93% average right now, but boy am I working for it:)

Talk to you soon,

Marci

I think there are two different groups for the threaded discussion. I'm in group B. Our group seems pretty active. Maybe a few people from your group dropped the course?

I'm taking A&P 2 this fall with Lee also. I'm in the fall session 2 group. I hope someone drops from the A&P 2 session 1 fall group because I need their spot:) I would rather have the course over the entire semester. It's just easier on me that way.

Have you heard much about Chemistry and Micro at edukan? I know they offer the courses but I haven't heard much about anyone's experience taking these courses at Edukan.

Our threaded discussion are really active also. I just noticed that I didn't see lots of people's names. I figured there must be 2 groups.

I took chemistry with ccconline, so I don't know much about Edukan's chemistry courses. I have heard positive things about them though.

As for micro, it is more or less a hybrid course. You have to live near the campus or have a cooperating lab in your area that you can use. I will probably have to take micro with ccconline since you buy a kit to use at home for the labs. However, their courses are extremely costly, not to mention the books and supplies also:eek:

Take Care,

Marci

Yes, there are two groups. I was assigned to group A during the first week. She even created a chat room for our group, but it seems like no one uses it.

It looks like I have A&PII this fall with Teri Lee also, has anyone taken this instructor's class before, are they tough? The syllabus says we will have exams, quizzes, crosswords, dissections, virtual physiology labs & review sheets, virtual anatomy labs, and practical quizzes. Does this sound like a heavier workload?? Also, we have to purchase more material-a physiology lab cd and book $$$ :uhoh3:

Yep, I took a look at the syllabus and there seems to be lots of "busy" work, however it may be a good thing because our test only count for 35% of our final grade.

That is a bummer that we have to buy another book & CD. I was looking forward to not having to purchase another text book.

I have heard good things about ccconline but I've also heard you end up spending about $1,000 per class after the fees, books, lab kits, etc... :nono: I will just pay for a sitter for a couple hours and go on campus for that one class before I spend that much. We'll see.

Specializes in Level III cardiac/telemetry.

Never mind this post...I was wrong...

I do like that the tests are only 35% of the grade. I think the practical quizzes were 15% of the grade. I'd say 50% is better than the 65% of quizzes and tests in A&PI.

Is everyone having fun with chapter 6? (unit 7) :uhoh3:

Have you taken a peek at chapter 7 yet? I feel a headache coming on. I guess I need to hustle and finish up with chapter 6 so that I can get a jump start on the reading for the next unit.

I am glad to know it's not just me feeling  about chapter 6. Not to mention I haven't had nearly enough time to read or study for this chapter. I haven't even dared to peak at chapter 7 :-) Good Luck!!

Yes, just when I thought the material was going to become more relatable along came chapter 6! I really need more time to study it, too bad tomorrows sat. already. Oh well, good luck.

Well, we are about half way. How are you all doing? I don't know about you, but sometimes these test throw me for a loop:uhoh3: This last test had so much information. I like to read and study her slides. However, last time there were 4 of them. That makes for a lot of late night reading:)

There was so much information to cover for unit 8 I thought I was going to lose it. It also didn't help that it was the week of the 4th and I just wanted to go out and have a good time. I am glad that we are almost done, I am 33 weeks pregnant as of today and I am getting flaky. I just hope that I don't go into labor until after this class is over!
